Running Accomplishments:

I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.

Personal:

I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.

Struggled to sleep last night. Was up and running by 4:17 AM. 1:14:03 with 10:11 pace. Best mile 9:39 and worst 10:54. Three miles were under 10 minutes. Ave. HR 125. TE 2.3. Max vo2 went down to 48 the last few runs.

1:01:20 with 10:09 pace. 9:59, 10:07, 10:42, 11:09, 9:34, and 9:25 with 24 sec. to finish. Ave. HR 138. TE 4.0. App told me to take 51 hours to recover. I walked to and from work today and then walked with Margaret after work. Will run 10 miles tomorrow to get the rest of the miles I need this week.
