Running Accomplishments:

I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.

Personal:

I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.

AM run. 59:14 with 9:49 pace. Ave. HR 127. Felt a little sluggish and couldn’t keep HR above 130. 9:17, 9:55, 10:29, 10:27, 9:14, and 9:35 with 17 sec. Getting windy but warmer out than it has been. It was in the low 50’s when I ran.
