| TM run at lunch time. Did speed intervals up to 5.7. Hamstring felt a little tender at first but got better as the run progressed. I'll take that as a good sign.

| 5 am run along the creek in the pouring rain. had to go this early so we could leave for the Temple at 7am. Beautiful morning even in the rain. I need to get back to running in the early morning. It is a magical time of day. |

Nice 4 miler with my daughter. She pushed on for 6 more without me. I felt kind of heavy and slightly winded the whole way. Not bad, but just not great either. I didn't check our pace but it may have been a bit faster than usual. We ran the church/chamber route. It's getting a little old. next Saturday we need to change it up a bit.

| 3 miles of quarter mile speed intervals around 1130pm at gym after church meetings. Got speed up to 6.0 for first time since I hurt my back several months ago. This morning mild soreness in my legs but hamstring and back both feel fine. |

| Afternoon run in some pretty warm weather for this neck of the woods. Legs felt very heavy and I felt slightly out of breath for the whole run. Not real pleasant, but I stuck it out and felt good when I finished. Sometimes just the self respect of knowing I did something difficult is reward enough. |

| 3 Miler on the TM at gym while listening to Psalm 1, Romans 8, John 8, 3 Nephi 12, 13, 14 on my phone. I have learned that those six chapters come within 10 seconds of lasting for my whole three miles.
Kind of a strange juxtaposition to be listening to that on my headphones and also hearing at the same time the faint roar of the heavy metal that was playing on the overhead speakers in the gym.

| Nice Saturday afternoon run. Cool temps. Three very significant hills on this route. I'm trying to be ready for a local 10k in early June. I think I will be there. Maybe not real speedy but at least I'll be respectable!

| Six miler on hotel TM in San Diego. I was there for some continuing education for my profession. Now I at least know I have enough fitness to finish the 10k I'm running with my daughter in two weeks.
