Ran 4 miles then eliptical hell for 1 hr 5 minutes.

I bought some tracks for my running shoes at costco and I'm itching to get outside for a long run, but I do not like running in this type of freezing A cold. I need to work up some guts that's for sure.

Are tracks like crampons?

From jun on Thu, Dec 02, 2010 at 10:51:45 from 66.239.250.209

Catherine, there are a few different brands, but yes, they are like mini crampons. Yak Trax and Khatoola are the two top brands. I've seen the ones at Costco and they look pretty good too.

Lily, you might get your chance to use them this weekend. It is supposed to storm, but be warm (mid 40s) at the same time. I'm jealous you have them. I would like some.

Cracks and tampons? What?

From Scott Wesemann on Thu, Dec 02, 2010 at 13:25:04 from 66.239.250.209

I could have used some of those on my Grandeur Peak climb this morning. Let me know how you like 'em.

Tampons Scott? Oh, right. For the nose bleeds.

lily - nice week so far! wow on the mileage. great job.

the tracks/yaktrax/crampons/etc work really well in this weather -- definitely makes the icy running more manageable.
