An hour on the eliptical and 36 minutes on the treadmill. Julie and I ran barefoot for about .30 of a mile. Then I went on to run another 4.25  practicing cadence  and all that jazz.We went to a running technique class last night at runners corner and learned some really great things. We know individually what we need to work on. I am heel striking at times, but I am also kind of recovering from it because I do pull my feet under my body, and bend my knee, absorbing more of landing. So in essence it's not a very bad heel strike. However now that I know this, I am going to work on better mid strike. Having said all that, I should've just taken the day off because I am TIRED. I got comments and questions at the gym from some about if I wasn't feeling well, or that I look tired. If people are saying or asking that, then my fatigue must really be showing up on my face. Maybe tomorrow I can sleep in and be lazy. We'll see.

Mmmm, the mid-foot strike. I've been mid-foot striking for about a year now. Every now and again I try and heel strike to see what it feels like and it is the weirdest thing, it is actually hard to do and feels horrible. Ha.

Remind me to tell you about heart rate training and rest. I learned it from my chiropractor who is a Cat 2 Masters cyclist and swears by it. It will really open your eyes to how you train and recover.

A more efficient running form could be just what you need going into your first marathon.
