3.50 TM miles at a 7:15 pace. 1 hour 5 minutes on the eliptical followed by a little weight lifting (not much I can't lie), and some core crunching. Hoping I can do the minuteman 5k Saturday if my legs can take it.

Are you sure you're not a machine?

I'm looking at your recent races:
May 1, 2010 - 5k - 6:41 pace
May 29, 2010 - 5k - 6:45 pace
July 24, 20101 - 10k - 6:43 pace
Aug. 7, 2010 - half marathon - 6:48 pace
WTH? You need to get out of the crazy 6:40 pace if you're going to get a sub 20 5k. LOL!

I know. What am I going to do? Alright Allie- voice of experience. Please advise!

I know the answer (though I don't have a lot of experience) - you have to run faster.

LOL!!!! Hilarious! You're right. I gotta run faster damn it! :)

Nice work on the TM Lilly! It is SO hard (for me anyway) to hit faster paces on the machine! Can't wait to see your new sub 20 5K report on Saturday! You've got this!!

Burt, you are exhibiting some major stalker tendencies. It's probably a'ight though... I think Lily likes it :)

Scott! I resemble that remark. Anyway, her results are a mere one click away from here. One click!
And be careful what kind of "experience" advice you ask from allie. She likes to start rumors.

Hey no worries Burt. No need to explain. :)

i only have "experience" in two areas: polypeptides and scrabble.
as for your sub-20 5k, i know you can do it. your race on saturday proved that. you are going to have to run at 6:25 pace. there will be some strategy involved. the first mile should be faster than goal pace, the second mile even faster (decline) and the third mile slower (incline). i mapped the course out on using the course tool and these are the target splits for a 19:55: 6:22, 6:09, 6:44.
this is very doable for you.
in the provo 1/2 you ran a 6:38 split for mile 8 on tired legs. and that was 5 miles past the 5k mark!! the 6:25 gear is there, you just have to believe that it is and then use it!
i hope i get to meet you on saturday. i'll be right behind you on my rollerblades.

Sub 20 is possible if you can run a half in under 1:30, it is just a question of making the legs go fast enough!
will allie be doing the 5K in rollerblades? Could be a new womens WR?
