Late run again so over tired so took a nap for one hour...i know i fell asleep cause the phone ringing woke me . Darn wish i had turned ringer off home phone. I need the sleep. I cant believe how bad this insomnia is. Started running and i felt good. All the way till mile 7 and then my right calf, probably injured from sketchers last week....because sat i was in a lot of lower body pain the next day after wearing them, as my flyknits have never given me grief. Ordered another pair and decided not to mess with my body mechanics by going from 10 mm to 4 mm drop. They actualy feel very zero drop and are if u tKe out the insert. The insert does not look like it drops at all. Anyway hours later my calf is angry. Massaving it is painful. Ran last fives miles comfortably minus calf tightness, not pain, 7:11, 7:02, 7:08 , 6:36, and 6:35. Last two miles flat to minor rolling. Ap 7:35.

So busy i had no time for running from the moment i got up at 5:38 am. Work at 6am. 7 hour shift , super busy, helped out a coworker and she came in for the last five hours. Came home and upped the buy ness oh yes....housework soccer practices, shopping for baby shower wrapping gift getting fruit cut up and onto traya with caramel dip , cooking then feeding dinner to kids, well two of them, over to baby shower. Also got game schedules changed for my daughters soccer game got out socks to players that we ordered for....thei list goes on......in hopes of a run i put my shorts anx other running clothes on just after i got home from work......but there was absolutely no time for my scheduled five miler and i dont like running at the wee hours anymore. Liking the daylight. I guess i should be thankful i ran out of time....my right valf to my foot to my hip was in quite a bit of pain... I know why. The sketchers were bad for my back and going back to my usual shoes aggravated the already irritated disc. Numbness burning and tingling pain. Sciatica. So rest day in order. New flyknits should be here tmr. :-)

THIS ENTRY IS THURSDAYS. I WROTE WEDNRSDAY ON MY PHONE BUT MUST HABE NOT POSTED IT. SO WILL WRITE IT ON THURSDAYS. Saucony fives. 18 hours later (from last run in the wind in rain at 7:33ap)....I keep with the schedule-- which btw I forgot until I was nearly done with my run yesterday--- for 8 x 800 with 1/4 mile jog in between.  Ran three mile warmup starting at 8:41 pace and increasing pace every half mile for three miles by 0.1 mph or so.  1% incline.  Then quick potty/stretch break.  Then right into 800s....no stopping of TM no resting on sides nothing.  Felt strong.  Especially considering my lack of sleep and work out yesterday and freezing to death in a soccer game called early for  snow and WIND and pelting HAIL.  Yup.  Ref called the game at 0-0 with 20 minutes left.  The weather took a turn without much notice...it was cloudy and rainy when I ran earlier but it had cleared to no rain and just clouds around the mountains...then ominously they snuck up on us from behind the parents seated at the sidelines.  Wow!!  It took me all night to warm up.  Brrr.   Anyway back to my 800s.  Ran 9.7 mph x 2 (6:10), 9.8mph x 2 (6:07), 9.9 mph x 2 (6:03), and 10 mph  (6:00) for last two.  I would run them at zero incline then the last 0.03 I would up the incline to 1% to make me work harder cause I am strange that way.  I was working hard enough right?  Then would keep the incline at 1% and run my recovery at 8:12 pace (7.3mph).  Finished with a very slow cooldown ap of 9:07 : D.   Felt nice to do that.  Jane and Kim were there to witness my run.  In fact they arrived after I had completed two or three so it was encouraging to me and helped me stay focused.  Talking in between for a few of them but then told them I had to focus and just get done.  Of course I then chatted their ears off while they ran hills instead of their usual spin class.   6 miles in 40:36 for the SW.

7:33 ap in the cold wind and rain and loved it this is after my grocery shopping spree..so left at 1pm. (wednesday run too lazy to change the entries but this and wed. entry should be swapped) feeling really strong even in the wind and rain. getting that sick with nervousness feeling for boston and havent felt this way before a race in two years....hope that is a good sign. i am in wave one corral 8. i am going to race boston if elements allow. goal 3:10. or faster. it is boston and the course is not easyi n my opinion. compared to some utah marathons but it is sea level and i have been training on rolling hills only no downhill till this saturday when i will run a simulated half marathon at mp starting at uv half to its finish line. Seriously this pace came naturally today. Not hard at all. Felt like easy pace.

pink flyknits.  5.3 ish miles.  Stopwatch 45 minutes.  Course tooled.  Recovery 630pm.  VERY tired starting this after 12 hour shift and woken bright and early (called into work) at 534am.  Yup remember the time.  I was in deep sleep and wondering why my phone was ringing.  So hard to wake up and get dressed.  Could have slept three more hours easily.  Always when I can't, I could have.  So unhealthy.  Ran to Art Dye to daughter's soccer practice.  Waited around for it to finish and my husband kept going on and on coaching our goalie.  Then as usual could not fall asleep yet tired staring at ceiling.  Kind of worried about the intensity of this insomnia.  It is making it hard to think like I used to about everything.  Hard to explain but massive sleep deprivation...makes me change my mind on a dime....like after this run I didn't care if I even got on the plane to Boston (well Manchester NH is where my flight comes in).  I just can't stand not sleeping like I used to ONCE UPON A TIME....A LONG TIME AGO.  Anyway 'The Story of My Life.....(hmm isn't that a song nowadays?)

Back to the REDS.  YUP think I am gonna just have to wear them at Boston despite the lost heel on the bottom and no more tread under the toes.  They just feel right after all these miles.  Anyway was gonna try to run pace but to be the smartest runner I have ever been I just found a better option...Jessica texted me back and told me she was running easy in Highland with Taunya.  So I parked my car just East of Mt. Timponogos temple and ran towards her house and they met me.  We ran 7 miles together (2.9 to them) and I ran back to Art Dye park. Watched a bit of a soccer game Brooke subbed for then drove home and got ready for two soccer games at the Riverton Bubble.  AP nice and easy 8:05.  Nothing pushed at all.  I kind of feel achy all over in the head and neck so need a break.  So glad Sunday is tomorrow.  20 miler is Monday.  Watched Relief Society/YW/Activity day girls Worldwide conference with my girls. Then we practiced our memorization of Jesus The Christ.  Very nice to relax at home with my three girls who are all growing up way too fast.  Now....Boston is just a little jaunt for me to hang with April and show her around, spend time taking it all in and enjoy a nice run (fast or slow depending on my mood for the day SERIOUSLY)....no competition with my friends please.  I just don't like it ONE BIT.  I would rather roll over and die.  Really.  So....I will run my own race and if I slow or falter it is completely not a big deal...If I am on and somehow elements are all aligned I will run as if with wings.  I just need to be me.  I don't need pressure.  I don't need anything but the sound of my own feet getting me to the finish line and the help of the spectators along the way and fellow runners who also chose to be there.
