| 8 miles easy on tm at home. 8:10 avg. Every 0.5 to 0.75 of a mile I would run at 5% incline for the first four miles, then 4% incline the next three, then 3% for one. I also started at 7mph and increased the mile pace every mile by 0.1 mph so each mile was 8:34, 8:27, 8:20, 8:13, 8:06, 8:00, 7:53, 7:47. This breaks up the monotony of easy running. It actually begins to feel hard by the end from the hillwork.

| four fast (for me these days considering I have not run much at all and have put on 10 pounds of body fat, not kidding. I don't lie about this stuff, been stress eating and it has all gone to my stomach!! grrrr!!). 7:28 avg. 3 x 7:30 then last mile faster. Felt fine. Didn't feel taxed. Lots of emotions going on here! 1 % incline every time!

Did the impossible of fitting all the luggage into rental car I got for them. Sat in back with large piece between my legs and another on my lap between my mom's brother 75 years young and his wife. Some times I got to add humor to my life to get by. I was the only one impacted by it. Everyone else was comfortable which was my goal. I didn't really mind. Been through worse case scenarios.

| drove to saint george last night then to mesquite this am for first of six soccer games (normally only three unless you continue to quarter finals to finals etc). Troy coaches my daughter brooke's team. They won 1-0. Amber also played up to help out with subs. Second game at 330pm. Won 7-1. Brooke scored two goals. The first and the forth.

Started YEAST free diet yesterday so extra hard with no refined sugars for 28 days. Add fruit back in after that. Lots of fruits and veggies on this diet and whole wheat, grains without yeast so everything from scratch. Made tortilla like whole wheat pancakes last night. My own recipe-- water, whole wheat flour, 1 egg and a tablespoon of natural applesauce Troy made from apples from his dad's tree last year. With a teaspoon of real butter they were quite good.

Saw Emily from work (she quit last December). Loved talking with her and seeing her beautiful children. Brooke and Brooke ran 30:12 (they would have made it under 30 if they didn't stop at last 0.5 to piggy back into finish. They had fun!! :D.

| big cottonwood owie. back and left hamstring hurting still especially in warm up. tried to run the race (not as a pacer even though I was supposed to). Kept at 7:30 pace and my leg was so bad after the first mile. So tight and burning. got to mile 6 after the two steepest miles and thought maybe now it is safe to pick it up. NOPE 0.23 miles into it (I stopped my garmin when it happened) and I was gaining speed at 7:10 pace my hamstring felt like an elastic pulling until its almost breaking point then flinging back upon itself. So painful it stopped me in my tracks. I pulled over and knew I either get a ride down or hobble down. I chose hobbling after walking to next aide station apparently around the corner. WRapped in coban tightly I ran the race guarded and in pain but I made it. Cheering the whole way as many a runner passed me until I got to the end and I passed many a runner with words of encouragement. So first part was 7:30 pace to 4.5 miles. 9:47 from then until mile 10 (according to Revel results site, pretty cool to see how your pace looks and this is when I stopped on side of road for five minutes and walked) and ended with 8:12 pace for last 5 K. That was sure painful. But I got a runner to hang with me and pick it up. So it was worth it. 1:53:06.

| Honestly was not going to run the marathon. I was at work on Friday when Jane texted wondering how she could convince me to come to saint george. Well I work to 630 I told her. But then I thought why not just drive down after my shift and get there on my injured but not hurting at the moment left hamstring. So I did as other options not good I just drove myself straight there. Left at 7:18 from gas station by my house and never stopped til I got to Green Valley. Slept in a bed that comes out from the wall. Comfy. And all made up by Jane and Kim and Chandi. They were asleep when I got there at 11pm. Got in bed at 1140 after eating some left over costco pizza in the fridge. Then woke at 419 am. Slept the entire time til then. Left our building at 450am. And waited a while for the buses. The line was long. We got to the start at 6:40am!!! Supposed to start at 6:45am. I started the race at 6:56. Hit half way at 1:48 feeling pretty good but I forgot my gu in all my rushing around. So I stopped at every aide station for water and gatorade. After mile 15 my calves hurt so bad and the bottoms of my feet. So I had to walk and jog the rest of the way. They just would not quit hurting even after asking random stranger to rub them out. I did get the icy hot put on them and eventually in the last three miles I stuffed ice cubes in my calf sleeves so I could actually move a little better and stop constantly needing to walk. Came in at an astounding 3:55:13. That is the worst positive split I can even think up for myself especially at saint george!! 2:07 second half. I guess not bad for walking a lot of it.

| haunted half up and back. Ran from Canyon Glen park up to start of race. Mile marker 7 was just after we turned about a minute onto trail heading up. Got up there with 10 min to spare then started with race. (Jane, Julie E and Kim running so fast :D ). Me out of shape just plugged along. | TM at vasa fitness. Was supposed to run with Kim and Jane. They were late getting back. I wore fleece shirt and leggins for outside. Sweat run. 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, 7.6 and 7.7 mph miles. Some pick ups at the end of blocks of three after first mile. Stretched after first mile. Talked with Jenny. Then went to pump class to do the lunges part. Headache/migraine every day this week. Threw up three times since wednesday. So did not run. It was bad starting Sunday night. Hard to focus and hard to see. Glad to finally run today but was still super nauseated this am, threw up and then got myself out there.
