| Went hiking in the Smokies the past few days with my father. We did about 30 miles in 3 days, including hiking to Charlie's Bunion and Mt La Conte. I had never heard of Mt La Conte, but it has an amazing system of nice cabins you can rent. My calves are sore, but especially my back thanks to complications from my rib injury.
Monday- AM bike easy, just to move the legs and get out some soreness
Lunch- frisbee. Still hampered in my speed, and playing seemed to make add to my soreness. My whole back is quite painful now. My team won 5-2, at least.

| AM first workout in a week. 30 min bike, then ran a mile. Felt ok. Sluggish and ribs are not perfect, but good enough to not have sharp pains. Only ran one mile as I figured I'd play frisbee at lunch if it wasn't raining.
Lunch- 6v6 frisbee. We weren't playing well (especially me) but picked it up when the game started and we won 5-3. As opposed to being severely limited like last week, I kept pushing a bit more and found I could go almost full speed, at least for short bursts, but then being out of shape (2 weeks no running) would fatigue me. Still, big improvement, and it's only the last few days my ribs and back have not been moderately limiting or worse. I'll take it.

| AM bike then run 3 miles. Left inner leg/groin very sore for some reason.
Lunch- 13 people for frisbee. My team won 5-2. First time my chest never hurt from rib injury, though still sensitive to pressure. And my endurance/stamina is not up to par.

| AM GE held another family fun run today. First was the costume contest (my 9 year old won a prize), then the race of somewhere around 5k. I had one teenager near me for the first half mile, then I was in front with the pace bike the rest of the way. We had to shoo 10 turkeys off the trail near the start, and several deer ran near racers. The RD had put lots of great halloween decorations all along the trail, some of which were pretty scary to my young kids. I ran moderately hard and won by a couple of minutes. I think my time was 20:30 or so. Marci and my 2 oldest ran, as well. Finally, the 3 youngest did the half mile fun run and loved it.

| AM 8 slow. A bit more than usual as it was supposed to be raining all day so I wasn't counting on frisbee.
Lunch- rain let up a bit during lunch, though the wind didn't. I had meeting till 12:30 so missed most of frisbee, but made it for the last 20 min, just in time for the official game. Windy and crazy, 4v4. My team won 5-2.

| PM- Paris Mtn with Aaron and Lynn. First run there since Aug 29 injury. Last run sans headlamp. Nice weather, good run. Everything felt pretty good, though I twisted my foot pretty hard on a rock. 7.5 mile loop.

| AM 3 bike 3 run. Foot was ok
Lunch- today was the long planned Grandkids vs Geezers ultimate game. Split point ended up being 34 years old, so I was a geezer. Geezers got our butts kicked the first 30 minutes, then the game started and we won 5-3. It was all due to patience on offense, only making good passes. It sure wasn't due to being faster overall or more athletic. Chalk one up to wily veterans.

| AM- 6 slow. Saw 1 person on the trails (shocking), 1 deer, no turkey.
Lunch- such great weather for frisbee. 21 people, so 2 games. My team got lucky and won the first one against a better team. 4 of the 5 points were long bombs from Travis to the endzone, lots of luck. We were up 4-3 in the second game but then gave up 2 straight points.

Lunch frisbee. 7v7 with a few subs. The other team was more stacked than mine and kicked our butt for a while, but we pulled it together just in time for game to 5. It was a battle to 4-4. Then, in an incredibly long point, we had 4 drops in the endzone, and they had a few (some of the drops were very contested). We finally pulled out the last point and won 5-4. Oofdah.
