A friend of ours who was the parent of kids our kids grew up with passed away last week at the age of 54 of a heart attack (younger than me). Very sad for his wife and two kids. Very sobering perspective on how fragile life is...more incentive to retire next March.

Practicing for retirement the next two weeks! We are leaving today for a Viking river cruise on the Danube River. We start in Budapest with two extra days on land to explore and meet up with distant relatives (my mother immigrated to the USA from Hungary, this is my first trip to this side of my family heritage). Then the river cruise: Budapest, Vienna, Krems, Passau, Regensburg. Followed by two days on land in Nuremburg and two days in Prague before flying home.
No specific workouts likely (no gym on the ship) but lots of walking on tours and excursions.

| 10 miles of walking in Budapest with Zsombor. On the Pest side we Visited Heroes square and the large city park Jewish quarter and central marketplace. Then walked over the liberty bridge to the Buda side and hiked to the top of Gellert hill and the "statue of liberty" for Hungary. We then drove out of Budapest to Lagosmize to visit our relatives family farm to see their parents. We drive back to Budapest to our longship. Amazing time in Hungary seeing my mother's native country and spending time with my relatives.

| 7 miles in Nuremburg. Walked the rally grounds, document center and actual trial room. Then more time walking and eating in the old town. Had great food and beer. Spent time with our guide from Romania.
only bad thing today was I slipped in the bathtub and I think I cracked a rib or two.
