"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

| | well, back to my original plan to run another marathon only for a pr attempt - not happening this year. luckily i can drop down to the half at huntsville in september. my hope is to keep a solid 40-50 mile per week base throughout this winter and see about a fall marathon for 2020
my body just isn’t cooperating - i may have done too much too soon. no injuries or anything just real slow to adapt to higher mileage.
i realize i could “finish” a marathon this september, but it would be a death march at the end and i’m just not interested in doing that.

| | 2 miles - ha! started out in a light rain which almost immediately became a proper downpour, i turned around after 1 mile and came back. eh, it's been kind of a throw away week anyway. i should note that i felt remarkably strong right from the start, which is rare - must be from the giant cut back in mileage this week.
live to run another day
830am - rain, upper 60's
