wisdom teeth out today...no good.

This morning's run was difficult.  I was really nauseated, and kind of depressed when I took forty minutes to run only three miles.  I am planning on jumping back into the full workouts next week, with this week to build back up as much as possible.

Today was much better.  I did my time splits by laps, which ended up being 2:45 to 3:02.  The striders were wonderful in a really roundabout way!

PM- ran 4.25 miles up in Cedar while everyone else raced.  I was bummed that I couldn't race, but that will come!

Ran down Hell's Hole and did hills 4x1 minute and 5x30secs.  The workout itself wasn't awful.  My legs did all right and I was able to work on moving my arms while going up the hills.  On the way out, I had to stop because I thought I was going to throw up.  I finally made it to the top of the hill, and then we slowly made our way back to the elementary school.  Afterwards, while doing synchronized stretching, watching synchronized swimming, sitting on the blissfully cold floor of the rec center, and waterlogging ourselves, we (most of the girls) can say that we survived!  Barely.

PM-I just went one this afternoon because I was late to practice, and I am still not up to full doubles again, especially after this morning.  Thanks Coach Roberts for a nice run!

Today was an easy, tell all of your secrets kind of run.  I felt really good, and was able to bond a little bit with the girls.

One and a half miles up in Brianhead in 60 degree weather, followed by some yoga/pilates.

AM-6 miles on the river trail.  This run was really good.  I was able to push myself hard and there wasn't any nausea.  The weather couldn't have been better.  We made it back in an hour.

PM-3 miles.  I don't know why this was so hard, but the heat killed me!  Other than that, it was nice to talk to Taylor and there was weights and plyos afterwards.

This morning's workout was 4x1000s.  My splits went like this: 4:30, 4:55ish, 4:38, 4:28.  I felt relatively good, considering that this was my first major speed workout in a long time.  The first one was pretty good, and I started with the rest of the girls.  My cooldowns were too slow, which caused me to run the last one by myself.  I (cheesy as this sounds) had to keep telling myself that I wasn't going to die, so I might as well push hard.  All in all, it was a good workout!

I got up at 6:30 and went three, which was very lovely.

However, this afternoon was...hot.  The workout was 3x2mins, 4x400s.  It could have been a lot worse, but I struggled.  The 3x2 mins weren't that bad, and then the 400s took me down.  The last two went a lot faster, and as I relaxed my face:), I was able to breathe easier.  By the end of the whole practice, my voice was pretty much gone because of my cold.

AM-2 miles.  Mariah and I went early this morning because we had Trilogy.  We just went two, but it felt really good to run in 80 degree weather, even if it was at 5:45 in the morning.

PM-2 miles.  I was planning on the full workout, but early in the afternoon I was getting really bad headaches and my cold was acting up again.  I ran up to Walmart and was doing fine until I tripped and my head did this weird whiplash thing.  I didn't hit anything, but I became really dizzy and light-headed.  So no striders or weights, so hopefully my body can heal a little bit by Saturday.

Nice, easy 3 miler with 4x200s afterwards.  It was a good run, and it makes me somewhat less nervous for tomorrow's race!

My very first race!  I met my goal of a sub 26 5K, and I am so happy!  I feel like I could have gone much faster during the last half of the 2nd loop.  I kind of hit a mental wall and wasn't able to get over it soon enough!  And I want to publicly apologize to Coach Roberts for snapping at him and disregarding his well-meaning advice.:)  A  good first race, I think!

PM-5x3min repeats.  I tried to stick with Taylor, but I ended up being about 20 yards behind her on the first one, and it went downhill from there.  I managed to stay ahead of Sally for the rest of them, and I was able to finish strong.  No AM this morning...still trying to get rid of this nasty cold/cough.  I will be there on Wednesday!

I am not really sure of my time, except that it was in the 18s.  This was a really hard race (can you call it that?) for me.  I had had a crappy cough all day at school and I was already really tired from the workout yesterday.  However, I was able to work on the small steps of a race, such as thinking that I can just get to that sign, as opposed to surviving the whole thing.  Mentally, it was okay, physically, not so much.

AM-3 miles. I wish that it would rain like that more often. Of course, if it did, I wouldn't appreciate it so much.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I was able just to loosen up and relax.

PM-5.5 miles with fartleks.  I am not so sure who came up with the name, but in any case, by the second repeat, my legs had loosened up and I was able to push myself.  I forgot my watch, so no splits.  Again with the rain!  So very wonderful!

AM-2 miles.  No one showed up to go early, so I ended up only going 2 to make it to Trilogy on time.  It was a nice run,  and on the way back I realized that I love to run by myself.

PM-3 miles with striders.  It was so very humid today.  I ran with Sally up to the Green Springs clubhouse.  We started back with the varsity girls, and made it our goal to keep up with them until the freeway overpass.  It worked, and pushed me just hard enough to make me feel like I had accomplished something!

AM-3 miles.  Lovely run!

PM-3.5 miles w/ 4x200.  My legs are pretty much dead.  My head was okay during this, but not great.  I was able to stay steady, but slow.:(  Nervous for tomorrow!

I was really happy with this race...mentally it was good, and this report would have been a lot better if I had done it on Saturday.  I started out slower this time, so I would push myself at the end.  I was able to push myself, but too late.  Note to self...start out faster.

3 in the morning...5 in the afternoon.  This run was horrible.  It was so hot and I did not drink enough water to get me through it.  I went really slow on the striders...I just felt like I didn't have anything else to give.  I know better than that.

4x3 minute repeats with 3 min recovery.  I am way sore from weights yesterday.  This was sort of a messed up run.  We started together, but by the second one we couldn't hear the timer, so we went too far.  Coach let us borrow his watch, so we were able to finish that accurately (ish).  Coach's inspirational speech almost (ALMOST) made me want to do one more repeat so I could show that my pain threshold isn't really as low as it seems.  Ah well.  I will just kick it in the butt tomorrow.

AM-3 miles.  Ran by myself again, and enjoyed it!  I was able to get a few kinks out of my legs.  I love morning runs!

PM-5.5 miles 3x2min repeats, 4x400s.  This was a really good workout.  My legs were really sore and tight.  Once I got going though, I was able to not be freaked out by the pain that I would inflict on myself.  Eventually they worked themselves out. I took Coach Robert's advice to take them one at a time, and to push as a hard as possible on each one.  Weirdly enough, it worked.:)  My 400 splits went 2:00, 2:00, 1:55, and 1:53.  I was able to stay positive.

AM-Easy 3 miles with striders.  I did my workout in the morning so I could go to pit rehearsal.
