Running Accomplishments:

I started running about ten and a half years ago. I have ran three marathons. SGM in 2005, Ogden in 2006, and SGM 2006. My best time in a marathon is Ut. Valley Marathon 3:59:46. I have ran seven half marathons, some 10k's and 5k"s. My favorite marathon is SGM.I have ran 13 Marathons, will be during my first Ultra in march of 2013, it will be the Antalope Island Buffalo Run, a 50k.

2008 SGM PR 4:02:23 The best is yet to come.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term running goal is to increase my four days a week of running to five to six days a week.  Do more speed work this coming year. Bring my times down. I would like to do SGM in 4 hrs or less.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ.

Personal:

I have been married for 34Years, and am still madly in love with my wife Wendy. I have four children and six Grand children.

I guess I could call this a fsat mile day, well faster than yesterday. Felt like I had some energy so I pushed it a little harder today. My time 46:28, At my 2 mile mark I was at 18:28. I also did weights on my upper body and legs, 30 min. worth.

Very slow miles today. Did not have the energy today . Felt very tired today in my legs probably from the lower body workout yesterday. My time today was 53:25, I also did 30 min. upper body weights.

Today my legs felt really tired. I forgot my gatoraide,and suffered the last 3 miles. My time today was 1:50:22. Hopefully do better next week.

Yahooooo, what a great day this has been. I went to the oncologist today, and she said my C.T. scan from last week looked perfect, no new lymfoma, and I don't have to see her again for 6 months. I also had a great 5 miler today. I finally went under the 45 min. mark. I did it in 44:17. At mile 2 I was right on 18 min. mark And felt like today was the day to reach my goal.I just want to improve from here.The last half mile I was a little winded but not bad. I also did 25 min weight training on my lower body. The last few weeks I have felt like I have soooo much more energy. I hope I have finally gotten past the effect's of the radiation treatments. What an awesome day.

Nice day for a run, 70 degrees wish it would stay like this through the winter. My goal for this weeks runs are to keep my 5 miler's under 50 min. Today I ran 4 recovery miles and pushed it the last mile, for a total of 5.0, my time was 47:48. I also did 25 min. of upper body weight's.

Today I felt better than yesterday,I don't like the cold weather. But welcome to the four seasons of Utah. I did feel a little tired on the way out, but the return trip home I got a second wind and pushed it a little harder. My time today was 48:18. I also did 30 min. upper body workout with weight's.

It amazes me that on the days I don't feel like running I seem to do a new P.R. Pretty crazy. My legs felt really good and strong today, especialy going up hills. At my 2.5 mile mark my time was 23:20, and mile five was 48:41, whcih helps me stay on my goal for this week of keeping my 5 miler's under 50 min. or better. My over all time for the 10 miles was 1:39:41. My wife road her bike with me, it was a little cold. first time this winter I wore tight's. I don't like them very much. I look like 170 lbs of jiggely jello running down the road.

Today my legs felt a little tired from sat. long run. I did'nt do to bad, my time was still under the 50 min. goal. Time was 48:19, I also did 25 min. of upper and lower body weight training. The question I have do I increase my millage this week? And how much.

Felt a little better today. went a little faster, no record but still under 50 min. My time was 47:48. Had to put up with some Jr. High kids throwing rocks, but we survived. I also did some weight training on my upper body for 25 min.

Today I felt very wacked out. My legs were pretty much wore out. My time was 49:13. Still below my 50 min. Sometime this week I need to do a 43 min,. or better. No weight training today, I'm to wacked.

Felt alot better today, not as tired as yesterday. I had a better night's sleep and I think that helps recharge the body. My time today was 48:38, it would have been better, but I had to stop and make nice with a dog that did'nt want to make nice. He just wanted to chase me, so I stopped and faced him until he decided I was'nt a threat to him. It took about a min. and twenty seconds to convince him. I also did 25 min. of lower body weight training.

Toay was a nic e for a run. My wife went with me on her bike. At my 5 mile mark my time was 45:40, I felt pretty wiped out at about the last mile and a half. Total time was 1:36:09. 3 mi. improvement over last weeks 10 miler.

Felt okay today. My times seem to be staying under the 50 min. mark for 5 miles. My next goal is to get it closer to 40 min. for 5 miles. It was a nice day for a run perfect weather conditions. My time today was 46:18. I also did 25 min. of lower body weight training. I don't know if I'm ready to increase my Daily mileage yet. Maybe next week.I do have some muscel tightnees in my lower right inside calf. Will try and stretch it out.

Usually I can tell what kind of run I will have in about the first mile. Today was a very slow day. My right inside calf muscel is still sore, I did'nt seem to have a whole lot of energy today. My time was 50:40. and I also did 25 min. of upper body weight training. Today I just ran what I felt like my body could handle. Hopefully tommorrow will feel better.

Still felt tired today, but my time was faster than yesterdays. My time was 47:32. My right calf seems to have healed up. I don't know what is going on with my energy level this week, but it has been a strange one. I hav'ent been sleeping as well. I need to get more hours of Zzzz's.

I think this week has been a recovery week. My times have been alot slower. Today I just tried to do an easy tempo run. I did get a good 8 hrs. of sleep last night, so I felt pretty good the first five miles. My split time at 5 was 50:28. Total time was 1:47:47. Alot slower than the last two weeks. Hopefully this next week I will begin to feel better.

Holy cow, we have about a foot of snow here in Spanish Fork, and it is very cold. The roads were snowy and icy today so I kind of took it easy. Other wise I felt pretty good. My time was 50:52. And I did 25 min. of lower body weight training.
