AM:  Got out and enjoyed a city run through Seattle.  First time here and its a rad city.  I ran down to the stadiums (Mariners and Seahawks).  Then along some warehouses and back uptown.  Made my way over along the seaport.  Entered this cool trail system along Elliot Bay.  This city is super clean and very nice.  Loved the weather today.  The "steps" are tough at the end of the run climbing back up five hills of streets to my hotel at the Fairmont.  Glad I had some more time today to enjoy a run.  MIH

PM:  After playing Chamber's Bay today (site of the men's US OPEN 2015) which is a walking course only so it was a workout in and of itself.  I enjoyed today very much.  I am on a vacation and just thought I would do a night run after a much needed nap.  I ran through the city again.  Such a cool city with lots of undulations throughout.  I got in a great run before dinner at Canlis.  If you want the ultimate dining experience while in Seattle then I highly reccomend Canlis.  One of the coolest evenings ever!  MIH

AM:  Another out and back along the little asphalt trail here in Bar Harbor, ME.  Pretty cool town to visit.  I have enjoyed the past 3 days here with Angela and the kids.  Sollie and I played a little one on one yesterday at the in town park here.  He's a good little baller.  He kept telling me he won 21-20.  I love the competitive spirit both boys have.  They will compete just fine in life.  I felt pretty comfortable today.  I am hoping a lot of my right body tightness is disipating and I can move on from this weird 2 years of discomfort.  Running hopefully will be fun and competitive again. Ogden Half Marathon LR...

Spent the night at the Van Beekum's last night.  Always appreciate their hospitality along with the rest of the Ogden Crew.  Watched Unbroken with Riley, Dave and Ben last night and then hit the sack.  Early morning and not a lot of sleep but we were on our way.  Ben and his friend Allen and I all rode up in a police escort courstey of Ben's Dad.  I stayed in the car til about 10 minutes before start.  Got out and found a secret bathroom and then ran  around a little over a 1/4 mile to the start to just wu if you wanna call it that.

No real plans today except that I wanted to jog the course.  I signed up for the full last september so I had a full bib on and then just did not put my timing chip on.  Race took off and immediately we are running in the rain.  It rained the entire time.  I just decided I would go out really easy and then settle into a pace that was a comfortable jog.  7:40 pace felt comfortable the whole time so I just focused on getting a good run in.  Finished the run in 1:40.

Gotta lot of work to do to lose weight and gain the fitness but today was fun.  Great to see so many fun faces and cool peeps.  Got hpothermia about an hour later.  Had to get wrapped in blankets and foil for about 20 minutes.  Pretty interesting experience.  Don't recommend hypothermia.  Good week again.  MIH

thanks brother. little fatigue in the upper right hammy during the day but so far I have no tightness and feel pretty good. The pace is slow but I am just trying to work on the body repsonding to tightness and discomfort. So far my right hip feels better than it has in two years which is huge. Draper Days is consistently one of the best races.

Don't worry about your times as your working yourself back into race shape. Some people won't race until they're 100% race ready in their minds. But they forget that racing is a great way to jump start your training and you're dealing with the same mental stresses you deal with when you're fit.

So it's good all around.

Doesn't seem like anything but at 198lbs I will take it.  I had to do a lot of foam roll today on my left calf.  It got hangry at me today.  Slowly but surely.  Rehab feels like it is working.

Lots of stretching and PT.  Just worked on some core, foam roll, ball, etc.  Trying to do some active rehab everyday.  I also played some tennis with Angela.  Just vollied back and forth.  It was good to get outside for a minute and breath.

AM:  Earlier start today for me.  Been wanting to get up earlier but I usually have a lot of work in the mornings and cannot get out til 10.  Today was nice but quite a bit of humidity because of the storm coming in most likely.  Legs felt better today.  Took me a bit to warmup but finally settled in to a comfortable pace.  8:15AP
