Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

We met up as a team this morning over at make out point to tun on the trails over there. We just went at a nice easy recovery pace for 5 miles. After we got back and were stretching, Addison realized that as he stopped on the trail to use the bathroom he left his keys. So me and him ran another 3 miles after practice to retrieve his keys. So that put me at 8 for the morning. Later tonigt I met up with Jake and we ran over to Bates. On our way back we ran into Henry in some dope camo Boa's he had just gotten. We all ran together over to Jakes and then me and Henry ran home. That put me right around 5.25.

I finally was able to run with the Ogden Crew this morning, so I dragged myself out of bed and drove over with Henry and Jake. I was fealing good the first 5 or so miles and then dehydration hit. I ended up having to stop twice and felt like death, but  despite getting destroyed the rest of the run was a lot of fun and I loved meeting all of them. Hopefully I get to run again with them soon and feel a bit better. Felt like crap the rest of the day, so I didn't run again...

I still felt like crap when I woke up this morning, so I slept in and went over to my grandmas and ran on her treadmill. I did a 1.75 mile warmup with strides and then a 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 fartlek. I went 5:30 pace on the fast with an incline on the fast and 7:30 pace on the slow. After I did a 3.25 mile cooldown, for a total of 8.5 miles. Later tonight I did 5.5 more over to Bates and around the park.

I went for a 3.5 mile run this morning on canal at a pretty chill pace. Around noon I met up with Nate, Add, and Dan to drive over to the Aspen Ridge trail head to run up to Timpanogos Peak. We ran/powerhiked about 5.5 miles up to Emerald Lake where we hammock camped. I ran a mile up by the lake with some strides and called it a day. We were all super tired and didn't run as much as we had hoped because we are the worst fastpackers in the world and had 25ish pound packs...

We all slept pretty crappy because of the wind last night, so we were all really tired this morning. We hung around camp and ate until around 11 when we decided to go up to the peak. We thought it would be fairly quick up and down, but the trail was a lot more rough than we expected and we had to hike most of it. We chilled up at the peak and then headed back down. We hurried and cleaned up camp and then headed back down the mountain. I took a nice hot bath once I got home and it was great to be able to sit down and relax. Later tonight I did another easy 3, and then I ran a half mile around the park with my brother at an 8 minute pace or so.

I went over to my grandmas house again to run on the treadmill and do a hard tempo. I did a mile warmup with some strides and then started the workout. I went a full 5k and finished in 17:45, so I was stoked! Im super excited for this season considering I'm destroying last years pr's during tempo workouts. After I did a 1.25 mile cooldown and stretched for a total of 5.5 miles during the workout. I met up with Jake for a long run around 8 tonight after watching Mo kill it in the 10k. We went 12 miles together and a little with Henry. We stopped at the park and I said goodbye to Jake because he is leaving to SUU tomorrow. I ran another 1.25 miles alone and it was honestly needed just to get out all my emotions of Jake leaving and realizing that the friends I've grown up knowing and running with for the longest are all leaving. Today was sorta a crazy day running wise and probably not the smartest training, but it was the last day of summer training and mentally I just needed it.
