At my old HS, I walked 2.75 miles as a warm-up, then I jogged 2.25 miles at a rate of 10:40/mile, then I walked 0.5 miles as a cool-down. The temperature was in the mid-90s, and my calves felt good until about the 8th or 9th lap, then they started to feel a little tight. My legs also felt good until about the 8th lap, then fatigue, and the heat started to take its toll. Total distance was 5.5 miles. |
