Hi Benjamin. I have been pondering a good answer to your question from 8/30 (How did you to the point of running so fast?) and I still haven't found a good answer. I know that running comes easier for me than most people so I guess the easiest answer is that running is one of the gifts given to me by God. That is a little too easy of an answer because we are all given gifts from God.

My career spans three different times. First, I was a high school and collegiate runner (4:01, 14:50's, 30:48) then I was a graduate student. When I was a grad student I was a recreational runner and 13 kilo's heavier. After I moved to Utah, I started to run seriously again and it took several years to round into shape.

My strengths are longer distances, especially races longer than a hour. I train at tempo pace often, even during some of my easy runs. I think runners should run some part of every run at a good speed.

Mainly, over the twenty years that I have run I have tried to have fun. I think if you are having fun you will run fast.

By the way, you need to change your PR for the 5K. You ran faster than 25:05 the other day.
