I ran on the treadmill and watched the ING with cooper.  IT was fun.  He ran over to the Club house with me.  On the way back we practiced handing off the "baton"... a boyscouts magazine he had been reading.

STill can't shake this URI, and the other.  My asthma is disabling my immune system again.  It keeps misfiring.  I'm going to the DR tomorrow.  I really don't want to go on prednisone.  We've got to get this stuff undercontrol!

63 minutes.  I felt great, finally.  I saw a doe off to the side of the trail, not even 10ft from me.  She didn't even move, she just stared at me as if to say, "Silly human".  Very neat experience.  It was cold out, I wore two long sleeves, tights, gloves, and a stalking cap.  I am such  wuss in the cold.

didn't really keep a watch. My right calf (outer) is really really tight. Anyway, the run was really weird I don't know if was because the Forest guys followed me (in their Cherokee) for two miles on the trail, or because of the lyrics from The Pogues I had rattling around my otherwise empty head? I guess it could've been the juxtaposition of the green grass against the naked trees. Who knows. I just felt really weird mentally today.

I did an add on before the LFLB club run of about 2.25. I had a blast with Rob, Jenny, and Steve.  I decided half way through the 6mile loop to race a 10k tomorrow. Maybe I can win it and pay for my Gasparilla plane ticket!   We ran between 6:45 and 7 min pace the whole way.

Raced the Westchester Veterun 10k.  35:58

This was a great race. Not just time wise, but for race toughness as well. I was able to perform a manual override on that negative little man that starts heckling you when you begin to feel the wear of the race, and I beat that little man too!!!!! I fell asleep during mile 3....but I woke up again and ended up running a negative split. Either the second and third miles splits were off, or I was in a coma instead of just snoozing a bit.

Mile 1: 5:40
Mile 2: 5:30
Mile 3: 6:16  (17:26)
Mile 4: 5:50
Mile 5: 5:45
Mile 6: 5:35  (17:06)
End .2: 1:23 (5:35 pace)

Other than MIle 3, which stinks whether they messed up the markers or not, a pretty solid performance. The course was flat and beautiful, the weather was ideal, and I stayed in the race almost the entire time (Hooray I'm on my way back!). The last .2 my legs were rubberized, and afterwards I had soreness to be expected. I think the negative splits show that I'm ready to run even faster, but the rubberization may have been worse had I not fallen asleep... Who knows? We'll see. Either way this was a nice benchmark test. I'm just gonna keep pluggin' away!

Ran a shake out at 7:10 pace with my neighbors greyhound, who got tired!  Somebody is out of shape.  I made up a song after last night...

There were two in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over Roll over"

There were three in the bed and the other little one said, "roll over, roll over"

There were four in the bed and the mommy said, "Scoot over, Scoot over"

There were four in the bed and the mommy said, "Forget it, forget it"

There was one in the bed and a little one said, "roll over, roll over"

There were two in the bed and the mommy said, "Get back in your own bed.  I can't sleep in this twin bed with both of us it's too hot!  I love you though"

There was one in the bed (finally) and the mommy said "ZZZZZZZZZ"

I did 3 hill repeats on a 1000-1200 meter loop.  total run 1:03:15.  Felt pretty good.  It was freezing!

Ran 1.5 in the evening with cooper 12:50 for the total!  He was determined to make it too the water tower and back!  We had to stop and run "sprints" on the soccer field too (that isn't added in).  We watched the video on Ryan Hall on GodTube this morning and now he's pumped.  "Make me a fast runner Mommy".  As he knows I can't do that, but I can help him love to run!

I didn't time myself!  I thought I'd include the link to the Ryan Hall video!  It's awesome, inspiring and it makes my day everytime I watch it!

2.5 at night around soccer fields near home so cooper could jump in and jump out as he felt like it.

RAn this with Paul at Shades.  I was surprised at my reluctance and trepedation on the trails.  I also surprised at how out of breath the hills between sugar creek and Alamo made me.  My hamstrings were so tight by the end!  I added half a mile to this, according to garmin, because it felt like 14.5!

RAn easy on parts of my old courses in Crawfordsville.  It was weird to feel so safe running in the dark!  I haven't felt like that since High School.  I saw many family friends HOrners, Elliots, Mallott's and also many classmates just by happenstance.  REally I had a blast with my cousins.  The story of when Jon (one of the cousins) Tried to kick his dad with his prosthetic leg, while standing on a landing, and his dad took the leg off and threw it down the stairs had us all laughing so hard we were in tears!  Jon lost his leg to cancer when he was 10.  Of course as he aged he saw the ultilitarian use for his leg as a weapon, and even broke his stump in the process once.  His sister told the story.  My cousin Juli's baby is beautiful.  It was a great weekend.

1:05  for the total time...1.75 mile warm up. 6.25 miles loop 40:26, 2 mile cool down. Hammy was great until mile "4" on the loop. I backed off and it calmed down by mile five. It's getting better!

My freakin' hammy was so darned tight. I was completely frustrated by the end of this run. We were running about 6:40 to 6:30 pace this week I'm backing off. RAn at lake forest with Amy Haney, Brad Moats, Steve Clark!

59:03 My hammy was tight again, but this time it was very localized... only at the hammy glute junction. so I took it very very easy. I only stopped to stretch twice, at miles 2 and 4... after mile 4 it hardly bothered me at all! Willem was pretty well behaved today. I only had to be stern twice the whole run! yipeeee!

56:03  Hammy's were great at the beginning of this run. No problems. As I got farther into it I began to increase the speed.... I felt it react once I got under 7 min pace, but not to dramatically. Thank goodness... the Gentle paces are paying off. now I know that it is intensity, and not mileage that is bugging it! Now, just to be smart. Oh yeah, sweet vengance... Willem kept messing with the elliptical even though I said several times that if he did that it would hurt him. Guess what he pinched is fingers! When he cried i said, "WElp, I don't feel at all sorry for you. I told you not to do that, I warned you of what would happen, and you disobeyed me. To bad for you." I'm a mean mommy, but sometimes that just feels right. i bet he doesn't mess with the elliptical next time. And that folks is how curiosity killed the boy!

4.75 am Had to cut it short due to IBS. Not pleasant. See I just take all my stress and shove it way down deep inside. then It comes out the back end, and no one ever knows I was stressed but me. Its a beautiful thing. REally. Shove it down, shove shove shove it down. There you go!

5.25 pm Felt much better second time around. Luckily Willie didn't mind making two trips to the "treadmil room". He's learned how to use the stationary bike so that makes my life a little easier, as long as he doesn't rack himself, or hit his chin on the handle bars.

The wind chill was 17 or so... I pushed willem in the stroller (I'm not a child abuser, it is the Trek one with the cover to keep the wind off of him). My hammy started to bug me after 6 miles. I know it is from pushing the darn stroller, the kid weighs between 40 and 44 lbs based on whether or not he's eatten recently. He fell asleep at mile 6...(and became dead weight) But he was singing "John the fisherman" and "skip to my lou"... a little primus mixed with a nice all american folk song. Man are my kids warped. Basically I didn't die in the cold and willem was comfy enough to sleep. My bum hurts now but it was nice to be out side.
