I didn't time myself!  I thought I'd include the link to the Ryan Hall video!  It's awesome, inspiring and it makes my day everytime I watch it!

2.5 at night around soccer fields near home so cooper could jump in and jump out as he felt like it.

Annie- Great video. Thanks for the share. I saw you referenced it a few days ago, but I had no idea what video you were talking about. It puts a good message out there about setting the right priorities in your life and letting other things fall into place.

Some thoughts on the video. First, spiritual. Good to see a man who has some understanding of why God has given him the talent and what to do with it. We have a lot of people with talent, but not many who know what to do with it. I really liked what he said about success being defined as being the best in the world. Some people will do their best, and will still not win. That does not make them failures. Success means you do your very honest best.

Now technical. Note that he did not use Garmin to measure a distance. He had mile markers painted on the road. Also note that his pace varied by as much as 50 s per mile during his 15 mile tempo, he was checking his splits diligently, but it did not appear to bother him at all. He did not seem to ease off after hitting a 4:44 mile, nor did he seem to make an effort to speed up after hitting a 5:33 mile. While he was recording the numbers, he was running purely by feel. When it was windy he allowed the pace to slow down, when running downhill he allowed it to naturally get faster.

I really liked the combination of technical and spiritual. It worked very smoothly to carry the message.
