Quality for the Olympic Trials in the marathon Personal: I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.
I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)
I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

| | Hiked the Pfeifferhorn. It's such an iconic peak and nice to finally hike it (although it's much prettier looking at it from far away). Trying to get in good enough shape to stay with the rest of the JAJAK crew in Banff next week!!

| | AM - Wasatch Crest Trail. What an amazing trail - I can't believe we haven't run this in the entire time we've been in SLC! Had a great run. The best time to do this trail is probably in the late evening when there aren't too many mountain bikers out. We will definitely be up here running again soon. Happy to hit the 10 mile distance b/c that has always been my favorite length to run.

| | AM - Ran on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail for 7 miles with Jake. We got a cool rain shower during the second half - a nice relief from the last few weeks of heat.
35 miles of running in 5 days with a long hike in there too. It was a great week of longer runs on the trails. Tomorrow will definitely be a day off from running and I may keep the rest of the week pretty easy so I'll be ready for #jajakcanadaweek

PM1 - Hiked up Tunnel Mountain (~2.5 miles, 1000'). Perfect timing as the clouds finally parted and we got some great views of Banff.

| | AM - 20 mile hike/run from Sunshine to Assiniboine Lodge, featuring unbelievable wildflowers and a couple intense rain storms. We spent the next 2 nights in the Naiset Huts near Lake Magog and Mt Assiniboine. We ended up running about 5 miles but were out on the trails for 6:50.

| | AM - 20 mile run/hike from Assiniboine to Sunshine, back the way we came, in 4:29:45. We ran about 15 miles of the trail and it was downright FUN. This is probably the best run/hike I've ever done. :)

| | 5k on the treadmill in Shanghai. No running outside on this trip...the combination of not speaking Chinese, potential for getting lost, smog, hot and humid, no working phone, time, and energy was just too much to overcome. But I am definitely going to have to figure something out as it sounds like I'll be in China 3-4 times a year!

| | AM - 4 miles on the treadmill. In hindsight I should've just taken the week off - the running on the treadmill changed my biomechanics too much and caused my abdomen to hurt again... I feel like I just lost the last 2 months of progress!
