Quality for the Olympic Trials in the marathon Personal: I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.
I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)
I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

| | AM - Canyoneering "Stairway to Heaven". This slot canyon was really cool - several repels, down climbs, narrow walls...Jake and I decided that we are going to get training so we can do these on our own! This trip also opened us up to a totally new area that we need to go back and explore more.
PM - 6 miles on the Temple Mountain Road, 8:40 pace.

| | AM - Ran up and down the Temple Mountain Road, 10.5 miles at 8:35 pace (1100ft of elevtion gain).
PM - Hiked the Ding and Dang Canyon loop, 5 miles. This was SO FUN. I did it back in April with the girls + Roo and it was just as much fun the 2nd time around. There was quite a bit more water this time, though! Jake and I ran out the approach for a mile.

I was feeling really tired in the beginning and decided to run 5-6 miles and somehow that turned into a lot more...we haven't run in Holladay in a while a forgot which roads went where. It's probably good though because I need to do some runs longer than 5 miles. |

SOJO 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:19:35, Place overall: 1 | | SOJO 5K. Jake and I decided to run this race for fun earlier this week. We warmed up for 1.5 miles then the race started right on time at 8:30. The first mile is flat, and I came through at 6:10. My breathing was already quite labored and my legs felt flat so I knew it wasn't going to be a fast one for me today. The next two miles were pretty hilly and I ran 6:30 then 6:25. Final stretch to the finish to a time of 19:35. The course was probably a tad bit short and more challenging since the last time I did it in 2013. I felt like I got a good workout and can't really expect much better with the slog miles I've been putting in :) I won the womens race for $75 - my first deposit in the #weddingfund!
We cooled down for 1.5 miles, got our Chick-fil-a sandwiches and were out of there by 9:35. I was impressed with the race organization and efficiency. They did a great job!

| | PM - Afternoon run with Devra at Corner Canyon. This was my first time running there and I really liked the trails. I tripped on a rock and cut my knees and hands up pretty good but that's not unusual for me :) I have no idea how far we ran so I'll give it 8 miles. Devra only talked about work for 5 minutes so I would call that a huge accomplishment on my part! |

| | AM - Pipeline Trail with Jake, 8 miles at 9 min pace. We ran into Nate Krah (as we tend to do everytime we run Pipeline) and did a few miles with him. My calf and knee wounds are quite painful from the fall yesterday and my abdomen is bothering me so I'm feeling quite crippled now.
