Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Wasatch Crest Trail. What an amazing trail - I can't believe we haven't run this in the entire time we've been in SLC! Had a great run. The best time to do this trail is probably in the late evening when there aren't too many mountain bikers out. We will definitely be up here running again soon. Happy to hit the 10 mile distance b/c that has always been my favorite length to run.

Congrats on 10 miles! Looks like yall picked another insanely picturesque place to do it...

I don't really know my flowers but I hope Jake doesn't get lavender poisoning again.

Not only have I not run it, but up until this second I've never heard of it.

No lav weeds up on the crest, Joe. That vile plant doesn't deserve such views.

Although I did look it up, and apparently lavender oil from plants grown at higher elevations is better. Here's a nugget from one article I just read:

"The thought is that the oil produced at a high altitude will be better. Currently there is no data to support this."

Sounds good, let me try:

The thought is that the more beer you drink, the faster you can run a marathon. Currently there is no data to support this.

You can pretty much use that line of logic for anything.

It's like say "With all due respect..." before telling someone they are an @$#%#%$#^#$^. You're covered to say whatever you want!
