Ran extended Laie park loop. Ran hard for 7:30 then took a break for a few. Did that three more times; total time running 30:07. I am feeling out of shape but it felt good to get out. I've been weighed down with research papers and junk like that! It is a really stressful time and hard to stay focused.
I signed up for a 10k on April 26! I am really excited as it will be my first 10k and road race in Hawaii. I am going to try and train more for it. I am not going to take it super serious but I want to at least try hard. | Comments(1) |

Last formal practice with the team until Fall. Did 15 minutes on the elliptical at 180 rpm, then 15 spinning hard on the stationary bikes, then 15min easy on the treadmill.

| Ran Laie park loop. Total running time 24:53. I took a break about half way. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack! Ok not really, but it didn't feel easy or nice at all. I have made a goal to lose weight! Its really sad that I've stopped running so much as to gain this much weight, but I have. I have been eating a lot too because it is Hawaii and I'm in college; food is my atmosphere. So sadly my goal is to lose 14 pounds because that is how much I've gained since I've been here. Tomorrow is my first day of discipline! I'm going to run at least four times a week and eat healthier. Today I ate mahi mahi and crab legs and mac nut crusted chicken and taro rolls and oreo cheesecake! So I'm going out with a bang. | Comments(2) |

My first 10k! It was... interesting! We got down to the race late because Kim wasn't ready on time (grr), and when we got on the marine base the marines gave us vague directions to the race... SO we ended up by a playground and looked up and everyone ran past. We found the sign in place and got our packets and I took off my sweats and hurried and pinned my number on and started really late. Me and Kim darted off and I started running in the wrong direction on a dirt track and had to hurry and turn around, and I slipped and cut up my knees pretty bad and got all muddy. So, muddy and bleeding, I started on my way. The first couple miles I was thinking about stopping and just going home, and I took my time and stopped to find my way a couple times. I started getting into it after I caught up with people, though. It took me 18 minutes to catch up to the guy in last place. In the middle I wiped my face and got my face all muddy. My time was 57 something because I started so late. It felt good after I was done! | Comments(5) |

Went on a run to Tamura's and back, my legs were weak and awkward. It felt like I needed to relearn how to run. I went slow and walked a lot, the run is supposed to be a little less than 5 mi.
Just wanted to say how blessed I am! Yesterday I had no food and no way of getting ahold of people for food and I prayed I'd be able to eat, and then when I was walking home from the fireside a lady looked at us and said "Hey you want food? I'll feed you! Come on and I'll make you some food, no shame." !!! It was a big polynesian family having a get together before a funeral. Also, I couldn't find anywhere to live and a few days before I was being kicked out I randomly went to someone's house and her roommate had been looking for someone to sell her contract to. AND today when I was walking home from the grocery store with all my food groceries, a lady stopped and gave me a ride home. I know this is a running blog but I just would like to say how grateful I am and that the Lord is looking after me! | Comments(1) |

| Ran to Kahuku, then walked up to the nearest gas station. Ran back to Castles (I think it was) beach and ran a ways on the beach. Walked a lot on the beach, way down to Hukilau and then ran back home from there. | Add Comment |
