| | man I have been a slacker!!! running has been great lately. especially today. we had a 6 minute test today and it SNOWED last night :) so it was extra cold. we did a nice 20 minute warm up and then got ready to "race" honestly I was not really ready to go very fast and was a little afraid. we started and I was afraid to go with jacey and rylee. I pushed but stayed kinda far away from them. The second lap I realized that I could push harder so I did. I kept pushing and realized Jess needed me so I went and pushed and kept going. I don't know if I've ever felt better. I wish I would've just went with jacey and rylee at the beginning cause I know I could've but I am really happy with how I did. #3 on the team isn't too bad :) | |

I know I can run fast and I know I will this year. We had an awesome pack of girls and I really think my form was good. something I learned was that if you run with good form you run a lot faster. | | Had a doc appointment after school so I ran after with mi Madre :) we did some nice hills but it started dumping on us so I ran 45 but not real sure on distance. It was a nice run! |
| | Well, I truly have been a slacker. but I am going to be consistent. Running has been great lately! I have been feeling wonderful and I love running with our team. The legs are feeling a bit sore today due to lifting (I think) but it was a very nice 50 min run. The weather has also been beautiful lately! Love st George winters :) |
| | Morning run with weights. weights are wonderful they make me feel real strong and a little sore... Tempo in the afternoon. I truly love tempos. I feel like I can just go. I like to run on the back of the pack cause I learn to stay on the back and push with the team. It wasn't easy I still had to work to stay with the team but I pushed and ran a solid 25 min one. also our pack is becoming very more solid |
| | Run green springs. (Bummer Roberts wasn't here cause he loves green springs) it was raining and very cold. But a good run. Ell got a bloody nose halfway into it so we ran loops around the clubhouse. Striders felt great |

| | Today there were some very mixed feelings. My legs were real tried and my Achilles felt like they were going to explode. But I think the pickups helped loosen them up. I truly love running. Today I was thinking about how far I have come as a runner. When I was younger I thought I was good but it was nothing but natural ability. Now I have a group of 10+ girls who help push and strengthen me. I have become so much stronger and I truly love running and all I have learned from it. | |

I love running with a group of people who all want to push their hardest and do their best. I am really looking forward to this year. Dogtown Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:29:57, Place in age division: 2 | | wow ran my first half marathon! it was a blast! me, ell, jace, jess, and ry all ran :) I had a great time! we all stayed together until mile 9ish (sullivan) and then we kinda seperated. had a pretty solid pace the whole time averaged about a 6:57 mile. really happy to have best friends to run with. I really had a great time. not too sore but I can tell I ran 13 miles!!! Love running SO much. greatest sport there is. | |
| | morning run with weights. feeling nice and strong but a lot more sore 😬😬😬 had 30 min along with a 400 (for decathlon) nice run with jace. feeling really good! the 400 was swell ran a 1:10 so not great but I'm pretty sure it's one of the fastest ones I've ever ran. plus i was the 2nd fastest girl :) I was really glad and happy. |

I now have an a in math and school was great. morning practice was wonderful. weights were nice although I am sore...I honestly didn't really think a lot about the time trial I prepared but didn't stress. I am so happy with how I did!!! I was 3rd on the girls team and if we compared it to a mile it would be a major PR! I am so stoked about this track season. Snow Canyon Invite (1 Miles) 00:05:35, Place overall: 7 | | Nice run in the morning with yoga. FIRST RACE OF THE SEASON!!! Glad to get it out of the way ;) it was a good race. Nothing really wonderful but it was still solid. I'm glad that I know that I have so much room to improve. I just need to take what I learned and apply it to future races. Can't wait for many more. I can already tell this is gonna be one of the best seasons yet. Congrats to jace for killing it and for qualifying for state! |
| | finally got to cali. The bushars were nice enough to wait for me to run. There was a nice huge hill we ran down then ran on a cool little path by the ocean (or a little section of it). Very very very beautiful. It was also nice to get the long drive out of my legs. Felt great! |
| | Run at Torrey Pines State park. It was sooooooooo beautiful! We conquered another mountain and I fell like I am getting a lot better at hills :) we ran on a lot of trails and the ocean was so pretty and the trees. It was a good hard fun run :) |
| | Ran with my mom before a long day at the zoo. It was fun did the same run as the first day so we "won't get lost" as my mom put it ;) love running it wakes you up and helps make your day a lot better. The weather was really pretty too. Just perfect for running. |
| | Workout at Oceanside. We didnt really know how to do distance so we just calculated what our time would be and did repeats of that. So we did 4x4 min 1x2:22 min and 1x1:35 min it was really good. There are a lot of people at the beach so it wasn't super fun to navigate in and out of them. But I felt really strong and me, ell, and jos all did a really good job I think :) kept a nice pace. I was sad to leave cali cause I had so much fun with my fam and with my best friends (jos and ell) so many good memories were made. Love spending time with people that make me happy. |
| | Ran when I got home from Cali and from quartzite (weird place where my grandparents live) it was a good idea cause my legs were so sore from sitting in the car for what seemed like forever. My mom and dad came with me and we did hills on majestic. 5x1 min 1x85 sec. I felt so good! I am beginning to love hills cause I love the feeling of running to the top and conquering them. It was a perfect workout and I felt so strong. Can't wait to see the team again. I have missed everyone so much. Love running glad that didn't change in a week :) |
| | man today's run was the hardest run of the week. I ran by myself and that was a mistake. also I think doing both of our workouts right in a row was also not the wisest choice. but I got in 70 min at about an 8:30 pace. It was a long run and I was really tired but it was worth it. Running is always worth it. Also I enjoyed some time to think and that is always nice too. Nice end to a long hard week. |
| | Long run this morning...It was really rough. My hips were really tight and it just pulled my quads and it just really wasn't that great. Pick ups were fine it helped me get back in it but it was rough. Glad to have the long run over for the week :) oh plus we went over by like 7 min but it's whatever Nice afternoon run. seemed to be getting HOT!!! really chill and I needed it after this morning :) decided that this season I'm gonna get good sleep. attempted last but just fell behind. | | Morning run with weights. Felt good to lift again. Afternoon was very very good but very very hard. We had 4x1200 at CV pace. I had a really hard time getting into the first one. But I stayed in and still had a time that was right where I need to be. The second and third one I sat right on the back of the pack. Thanks to tavin I got back with them. The 4th one was by far the hardest but I felt the strongest. I need to focus on small sections of things and I will do so much better. coach Holt's was such a huge help as he asked us to push a 100 and then another. I wasn't worried about a whole lap just a little section and that helped me soooo much. So glad to have teammates and coaches who strengthen and help me become my best. Love running!!!!!! | |

I felt like I was pushing hard it just didn't click at all. It wasn't terrible I just wanted to be somewhere but I wasn't. It's fine now though. I have some great coaches and other people who have taught me so many good things. I love running and I just need to remember that. Also I need to know how to respond to hard situations. Also I need to just be patient and continue to learn the process. Love running and love my teammates. | |

My calves were really tight and my shin bone muscle idk what it was just ached. But I made sure to stretch and role it so I hope it gets better. It was a good workout though. Panther Relays (0.994 Miles) 00:03:00 | | Panther Relays were alot of fun. It was a nice solid push. I ran the 1200 400 and the 800. All were really good. My shin has been hurting a lot but luckily the pain goes away when I race. Excited for a good week. all times are invalid it just said I needed a time. |

| | this morning was more rough than regular. i just kept falling off and i was not mentally in it at all. we had some tempo and it was rough. my shin has been hurting a lot lately and ive been trying to take care of it and then my hips hurt too. im going to get a compression sleve for my leg so hopefully it gets better. still love running even when its hard. something ive realized is im not gonna get any better if i let the pain control me. i need to get up and fight back. know that i can be better. had a good talk with jess on the way back. i can always count on her to make me laugh :)

| | Man good run today. We did our work out in the morning due to some conflicts this afternoon. We had 2x1000 at CV 4x400 at 1600 and 4x200 at 800 pace. Really strong workout for me. My shin was really throbbing this morning. But running faster made it feel much better. Kinda shook it out I think. Going to the chiropractor again today. Hopefully it continues to feel better!

Dixie Invite (1.988 Miles) 00:12:11 | | Raced the 3200 at Dixie. Overall really happy with it. Not a pr or even a season best. But something about this 3200 felt different. My first mile was pretty solid. My second half was a lot rougher but I could tell that I was in it. I could tell that I was fighting. I could push I wasnt crawling in the last lap. In fact my last lap was pretty strong! Even with the time not quite where i want it it is a step in the right direction :)

| | Morning long run w/ ell and jace. We are running for student council and today was the day to hang up posters. So we had to go earlier. We did the formaster loop. Weather was really nice and it was a good run. My shin is still kinda buggin me but it was ok. I love running.
Afternoon 20 min. We did majority on the grass and i stepped on what i think was a bee. I never actually saw anything but one instance I just felt a throbbing in my foot. REALLY hurt. feeling better now tho ;)

| | Nice run this morning. The shin is still giving me a lot of pain. Had a workout in the morning. Honestly the weather was perfect. We did 2x200, 400, 800, 400, 200. My first set was really rough. I was letting the pain get in my head. But the second set I refocused and decided that I need to work on the end of my workouts. My second half was much more successful and I was able to stay with the pack a lot better. I worked on doing my best during every interval. Always being aggressive. Love running.
Afternoon short run. Also went to the chiropractor. He did these weird needle acupuncture things they felt really weird but he said that it should really help so let's keep our fingers crossed :) |

| | Morning workout. 2x800, 4x400, and 4x100. It was a very quick workout. My 800s were fine. I was in the range. The 400s were a lot rougher. My 3rd one was my best rep of the whole workout. The 100s flew by really fast. By the end my shin felt really actually quite good. Didn't really bother me. also good to see Rob's again. Afternoon run with my dad. Had an appointment and I shouldn't have to go back as long as I keep taking care of myself :) that's pretty great news! | |

| | Workout in the morning. One of my best workouts in a while. 2x800, 4x400, 4x100. (All at increasing pace) I was able to stay in pretty solid for the 800s the 400s were pretty good and the 100s were a strong finish. Afternoon grass run. It was really fun love this team with all my heart. Well, this track season has come to an end. A much needed end but it is frustrating and a little disappointing. Not much performance success happened this season. I know I am better than I have been performing so it was time to reset. Thank you coach holt and robs for being beyond patient with me. I really appreciate it. I am gonna have to take all my experiences from past seasons and learn from them. Also, not running for a few weeks cause my mom thinks it would be best. Kinda sad about that cause such a huge happy part of my life is going to be missing. I love running with all my heart. Now ive just gotta go out and believe in myself. I've gotta figure out what's best for me. And figure out how to help myself be successful. I know it's something that I can and will overcome. Love running so much. (I'm going to keep doing some form of exercise everyday and I'll keep blogging about that) |

| | well...my plan was to run again today but we hiked the west rim at Zion with the bushars and I don't think I have been more sore from a hike ever! It was 15.5 miles of rough roads. the hike was full of lots of hills (up and down) the views were spectacular. definitely one of my favorites! running again on Monday :) |

Had a hard time getting back up to the pack. So me and Jada ran together and had a good convo. Jada is so fun and awe she's gonna be a beast. | | Run at Sullivan :) it was a very strong run for me today. We did rollercoasters it was a fun experience I've never done them before. We had a pretty huge group of girls before some of them flipped. I had a really big mental battle with myself today. Running up all the hills and then the fast finish on the road. I think a lot of the reason why I fall of is because I forget to think/I loose all my focus. I started to fall off with like 10 minutes and I just ran slow for a few minutes I felt like I was dying and yeah then I told myself I can do this I can run with them. Robert's told me your legs will do whatever your mind allows them to do. So I started to pick up my cadence and focused on finishing hard. I finished with the girls. I battled and now I am stronger ready to battle again. 45 min | |

Like Roberts was telling me i really need to commit to endure the physical pain of running. Struggled through the last half of the run. Totally fell off the pack. A lot was learned from this run. | | Today was 100% better than the last few days. We had a 50 min hilly run. Last night I assessed some of my goals and what I need to do to get there. I have committed to do some pretty big things. | | Today's run was all over the place. We ran into green springs and I just kept falling behind. But ya know as I was thinking I wasn't in any pain. I wasn't seeking to become better or anything. So we stopped at the park and from then on I was determined to stay with the girls even if it meant feeling pain which is something we should want to feel. I felt wonderful on all the pickups. Running fast really feels good. Last 10 min were a real struggle but I feel like I finished pretty strong. Overall really happy with this run. | | Well, I was going to plan a run at my house but then Ellie planned a run at her house. I went to bed and then woke up to go and found she cancelled at 1 o'clock in the morning. so I was kinda mad cause Alli had to wake up early for something and had already run with both my parents so I had to run by myself. haha sorry for the long story but needless to say I ran by myself and I was really hard. | | Man ever since AF posted that video about their "grinder" my dad has been endlessly telling me that we need to find ourselves one to run every week. Well, let me tell ya. Coach found us a grinder. It is a freaking beast. And I freaking died. In some ways it was a very good learning experience cause I had never run it before. But I wasn't really driving like I felt I needed to. Especially the downhill could have been much better. Kinda just chilled. Next week will be much better. Both up and down. Felt the run from Saturday I think too. But no excuses I'm going to drive everyday. So proud of my teammates for absolutely killing it. They are such beasts. Plus Gracie. It was pretty good and I felt like I was strong though it all I just really struggled to recover so each time I kept getting further behind. Talked to Roberts and got a lot of good insights and such. As we were going up I kept falling further behind. Robs being the greatest coach kept coming back for me. I felt so bad honestly (cause ya know I was going so slow) but as we got talking I was able to pick up my pace and push aside the pain. or I guess embrace it. Before I knew it we were back at camp. Here's the thing, I don't know what I did differently last week than what I did for today. I know it's totally a mental battle (even though I was telling myself my legs were tired) I didn't even stay with the pack for one rep. It was hard for me to push and I gave up from the very first one. I'm gonna make sure to get lots of sleep and eat healthier than I have been. How we are supposed to push together and fight and pack and awe so much. Even though he was mad it was good because it made us realize things a whole lot more. We were doing our part as athletes to help our team mates and get them where they were supposed to be. So many people were pushing out of the comfort zone to seek together. | | am-good run. didn't really go as planned though. we ran out under the freeway towards Dixie rock. I you'll died going up the gradual hills. So it was a bummer cause I wanted to run back with the girls. But I ran back with ness and i felt like we were going a solid pace (but I'm not entirely sure cause my watch has been sooooooooooooo slow at getting location lately) overall a good run next week I'm gonna stick in on the long run. It's something I need to do. pm-robs gave a really good discussion before the run today. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. It's honestly something that i fall into a lot. I totally feel like I find myself wanting to be comfortable rather than growing. I was able to push through some pain and escape the comfort zone. | | am-morning run. really tired this morning. Committing to get more sleep. pm-ive decided to do some of our speed/interval workouts with a different group(Alli brown, Jada, pyper, ness, mayc, Jenna) we had 4x4:30 at 5k but then we also did the beginning and ending minute at quicker than 5k if that makes sense...it was super good for me :) I was able to lead and be strong the whole time!!! Shin and right thigh were kinda hurting but once we got going it was easy to forget. It is weird to not go with the varsity girls on workouts like this. But, I know that when I am helping the pack and contributing to the pace and pack I do better and I run much faster. Plus I am gaining a lot of confidence. One day running in the varsity pack will be where I need to be but for right now I am needing to help these girls push themselves through the pain. And let me tell ya they push themselves hard. Cedar Invite (3 Miles) 00:20:04 | | am-good run by myself (with the team I just couldn't run with them...I probably could've but I was super tired and my shin hurt) plyos were good and so was yoga pm-cedar race. so many different feelings and thoughts about my race today. I honestly felt good today. My legs physically hurt pretty bad. My thigh was on fire but I was able to push when it hurt. I was passing people and that made me happy. That's always a good feeling. | | man running by yourself is honestly sometimes the best thing. I was going to sleep in and go when I woke up so I passed on running with my dad and Alli at 7:30. My mom decided to wake me up at 8:00 so my sleeping in plan didn't really work. It was Andi's baptism today so I was sad that I couldn't help at the marathon. Region 9 Championship (3 Miles) 00:20:12, Place overall: 10 | | am-morning run lots of people so that's fun :) pm-man there are lots of feelings about this race. I'm really sad the the season is over for me. It went by way too fast. The race was decent. I started really strong and tried to stick in there but I most definitely died towards the end. Im happy for my swag friend jada pulling off a killer kick. I'm sad that I'm not apart of the team of girls that is going to go do amazing things. They've made me who I am. I truly love running. That's why I still run even though my times haven't showed any improvement since freshman year. It's hard to step back and see growth when actual times don't show anything in my favor. pm-run at chuckwalla with the girls team and both coaches. good run for me. jumped into the pack and pushed with them for the first 25 min. then i decided my quad needed some mid run stretching so i could finish with them. but they kept going and i thought they were doing a loop but turns out they weren't. i should've waited for them. but on the way back alli brown was lost so i was able to rescue her. maybe if i didnt turn around when i did she wouldve been lost right now. but its all good. i found her. kept a really solid pace on the way back. finished faster than i started so that was good. happy with todays runs. they were good.

It was hard to squat and stuff (like putting weight on it) so I tried to do more upper body stuff also sad day cause my weight partner no longer comes to weights. pm-shin felt better tried to push myself today. but not everyday is super great. It's hard to push myself to greater things when my body seems to be hurting me. Rather than pushing into the harder areas smoothly I seem to be forcing my body. I remember when running felt good. It felt natural and my body didn't hurt all the time. I want to get back to running where it feels good so I can push myself. I was able to stay calm and relaxed like the whole time. I threw in some really good surges and that really helped. Py was a really good running partner. She really helped me push. I just need to work on bringing the time down... Not really sure on my time lol :) this year it's gonna happen. also, my legs were super sore so that's not very fun. Overall a good day. |

| | well, today I ran a grand total of 10 minutes... Such a sad day. My mom wouldn't let me run in the morning and then robs suggested that I shouldn't run in the afternoon. I ran 10 min before going to the PT to get looked at. He thinks I have a hardcore knot on my shin so he worked it really hard. I was glad to hear that he doesn't think it's a stress fracture. That was stressing me out. But i cant run until at least Friday cause I have to go back in. Hopefully it gets better so I can race hard at Nike. I'll be biking probably until I can run again :( sad day I love running. | |
| | went to a different PT today. He's an awesome guy. Bummer that I'm still not being allowed to run. I'm going tomorrow and Wednesday. He's gonna work me out and try to get me racing on Saturday. he has some running test to see if it will even be beneficial/ready to race because I've been injured so that will either be good or bad. I'll do that on Wednesday so I'm icing and I'll do weights and biking until then. He also wanted me to get an insole cause it's my arches that are causing the pain so we went to get them but they didn't have any my size. Also sad day cause I've been banned from chacos and I have to wear running shoes always. Good day besides all this stuff apush was quite hilarious. | |
| | I went to the PT and did this test to see if I was ready to race. He said i should be good to race on Saturday. He said i can run a mile tomorrow, then the course run through on Friday, and then race on Saturday. He said if it starts to hurt again at all then I shouldn't race cause I'm on the verge of a stress fracture I guess. And then he said after Saturday I can't run for 4 weeks to make sure it's fully recovered before track 😭 I think I might die. Literally I haven't ran for a week and it's terrible...but if it will make me uninjured then I guess I will. Hopefully I have one race left in me. It's sad not running. I miss my friends |

wow, i was so blessed to be able to run at nike. it was one of the best races i've had this season (despite my injury) I ran a mile on thursday, the course preview on friday, and then the race on saturday. this was the best trip of my high school years. there was so many fun memories and experiences. on friday, we did a really cool thing where we talked about each person. i loved, loved, loved it. even though i dont know if i have ever cried so much. i had so many kind and wonderful things happen to me. those of you who know what i am talking about i could never thank you enough. no one has ever done something more loving to me. i love being on such a freaking amazing team it is the best thing. i love running, i love this sport its the very greatest. thank you coach holt and robs for being who you are you make all of us better people.

| | well, i have absolutly failed at blogging...ill get back on track though because i love blogging :) running has been so wonderful even though ive not been able to run very far. its sad to see me turn around at like 8 min when alli gets to run like 50 min :( but its ok im glad to be building up again. my legs are honestly feeling splendid. im really ready and hungry to run fast. im gonna make some sacrifices to help me. ran by myself today 18 min :) yay got my wisdom teeth out so now i cant run for a week the doc said so thats a bummer cause i was just getting to where i felt like i was actually running something haha but its a relif to have them out. wasnt even bad plus i didnt even do anything embarrassing. overall a pretty good day. ready to be back with the team :)
