Today I was on an official visit to the U with Jessica. We ran with the Utes from East HPER up and over in some streets until I recognized Alta Street, where we turned up to 11th Avenue and ran all the way down to City Creek. Sus and Hilary went up the canyon, but Jessica, Andrea, Nikki, Alyssa, and I ran behind the capitol down to Temple Square, then down State St to 4th south where we ran up to Zupas where we met the rest of the team for lunch. My tomato soup and grilled cheese were delicious :)

Today after all the track stuff we went out to the Oval for a speed workout, 5x1000. We ran 8 laps warmup and 4 laps speed changes and 1 lap recovery before changing shoes. I was in a group with Bill, Sarah, and Garek to hit 3:45s for our 1000s. Bill led our first one and we hit a 3:43. I felt pretty good so I wanted to lead the next one. We hit a 3:40. Garek led the next one and we hit a 3:44. Sarah led the fourth and we hit a 3:42. On the last one I couldn't tell who was leading since Bill and I were side by side, but we hit a 3:43 so that was good. We ran 7 laps for a cooldown to be at 10 miles for the day. When I got home I did my crunches and planks (since I can't do pushups).

Today was not a good day for me. I've been pretty sick this whole week and really tired. I can barely keep my eyes open as I type this. I couldn't make it to practice so I tried running on my treadmill later. I had to stop several times to breathe and try not to puke, because I could feel it coming every few minutes. And I was going SO SLOW. It was miserable. I decided I would focus on doing some weights and core, since those wouldn't make me almost throw up. I did 3 sets of 20 weighted lunges, 10 squats, and 15 calf raises. Then I went upstairs and did 3 sets of 40 crunches, 45 second planks, and I even tried a pushup. I felt really exhausted. I really need to just go back to bed.

Went to Instacare instead of practice today and had my blood drawn for a mono test. I really hate needles. I cried about a gallon of tears because it was that scary. But the good news is I only have a virus/infection type thingy. Not allowed to run until Monday and I have to use eyedrops that I'm pretty sure is superglue in disguise.
