1.9 mile warm up (so COLD)

13.1 Ogden Half Marathon (1:58:06 - AP 9:00 - 9:24, 9:15, 9:09, 9:09, 8:55, 8:58, 9:13, 8:52, 8:36, 8:40, 8:41, 8:53, 8:26)

4.88 cool down till I hit 20 miles

This was an interesting experience.  This marathon cycle has consisted of WAY more miles than my normal marathon cycle which has skewed my perception of distance.

Today, I got to mile 7 of the race and thought “oh, I’m only at mile 7”.  The last 6 miles didn’t even phase me!  Ironically, the longer I ran the better I felt (and even had negative splits).

Though the mileage felt super easy today, I didn’t feel faster.  This was one of my slower half marathons.  But I didn’t taper and already ran a big workout and miles and viewed it more as a “tempo” run.

My legs felt relatively good for running 20 miles today.  Though my stomach was slightly 🤢

I’m curious how this will all play out in Grandma’s Marathon in June.

(Side note:  I think I gave at least 50 fist bumps to women on the course.  I saw so many women with that “look” during a race when the wheels about to fall off and hopefully a fist bump helped them…because it was helping me.)👊
