Favorite Running Quotes:

1.

"Sooner or later the serious runner goes through a special, very personal experience that is unknown to most people.

Some call it euphoria. Others say it's a new kind of mystical experience that propels you into a elevated state of consciousness, a flash of joy.

A sense of floating as you run. This experience is unique to each of us, but when it happens, you break through a barrier that separates you from casual runners. Forever. And from that point on, there is no finish line. You run for your life. You begin to be addicted to what running gives you."

~Nike Poster

2.           A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Lao-Tzu

You’ve no doubt heard this.  And you’ve probably recited it in your mind on a run or at the gym when you’re just beginning to get in shape.  You have a goal in sight and this quote brings you back to the current moment.

But the problem is that many runners forget all of the steps between the first one and the goal.  If your goal is to run under two hours for the half marathon then you need to be honest about all of the little steps to get to that goal.

…and what I’d rather see you do is to get the goal out of mind completely, but rather focus on the process, not the outcome. -Jay Johnson Process orientation, not outcome orientation.

You should have goals, but you should take it one step at a time.  And you should be honest about the fact that you don’t know how many steps it will take to get there. ~ Vernon Gambetta

3.  Human beings are made up of flesh, blood and a miracle fiber called COURAGE! ~ George Patton

4.   Find the courage to be patient.

I've been a bit MIA lately, but thankfully, I'm still getting my running in and my ankle is feeling great.

I was invited to be a vendor at 3 different holiday boutiques to sell my childrens clothing.  When I went to drop off a few samples, I received FIVE custom dress orders and I just received a package from a pattern designer from the Bay area to sew all her samples for the Houston quilt market.

I've been in my sewing studio all day and night; my hubby calls it the sweat shop.  So many good things are happening - tender mercies!

Here is what I have been up too (these are just a few).: (I am totally tooting my own horn, and don't mean too, but I can't believe people actually like my stuff)

Oh PLEASE tell me you make these in a girls size 10-12!! They are SO cute - I'll put in my order for Easter for my daughter now. I hate that she is growing up and all the dresses in the stores are well...less desirable. These are beautiful!!

Glad the ankle is still happy - sew on amazing Toby...sew on.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I think I am going through all these late nights, neglected house and kids, thread constantly clinging to my clothes because I really do love to sew! It has been really fun!

RAD - They go up to a size 10 - I can definitely make them longer if need be (all those featured). But I am doing a custom order for a size 12 in a really cute panel skirt with a ruffle. I can send you a picture if you want.

FIRST---yeah for the running!!!! So glad the ankle is feeling well.

Second---WOW. I am so impressed! They are BEAUTIFUL! You are very talented!! Make sure you take some breaks from that sweat shop, though! Your back will start to hurt (I hate sewing, it hurts my back, plus I am very NOT talented).

YES! Please send me a picture. They are SO cute, I am very serious about putting in my Easter order now :)
