3 miles easy today. Calf didn't feel too bad, but I don't think I would want to go fast on it yet.  I think I will take this week and log as many slow miles as my calf will allow.  Hopefully it will be back and feeling 100% by next week and then I can finish my last 4 weeks of my marathon plan.

I kept it nice and easy for 6 miles today and my calf felt fine.  I'm going to try and do a long run tommorow nice and easy but I'll be paying close attention and at the smallest sign of an issue I will abort the run.

I’m traveling to Panama City Beach, Fl. Today so no time to run. I had planned on making this upcoming week in Florida my recovery week but since I had an injury forced recovery week this last week, I’ll try and get in a decent training week this week as long as it doesn’t interfere with family time.

I believe my calf is 100% though. That makes me happy.

10 miles on Front Beach Rd. Looks like we are going to be forced to evacuate tomorrow with Hurricane Michael bearing down on us. That will add a little adventure to this vacation.

There was a mandatory evacuation by 6:00 am today so we were up early and are now in Orange Beach, Alabama. It’s still cloudy and windy and the ocean is churning, but we are outside the danger zone.

It doesn’t look like I’ll get a run in today.

6 miles on the TM in the fitness center overlooking the beach while watching the storm move in. It was crazy how nasty the waves got, and now that it is past, it’s nice and calm.

5 mile easy run on the beach. It is amazing how beautiful it was today after the last two days of stormy weather.

Today we travel home so no running. We ended up spending the majority of our trip in Alabama. The beach here is just a beautiful as Florida. We had to change our flight home out of Pensacola since the Panama City airport is messed up from the hurricane. Considering everything that happened it was still a pretty good vacation.

Boy did the weather change here while I was gone last week. It was only 57 degrees and really windy this morning. I actually wore long sleeves for my run. After climbing nice and easy about 1000 feet over 5 1/2 miles I turned around and ran back down at 6:35 pace for 5 miles and then did about a mile cool down. It felt good to run fast for the first time since I injured my calf about 2  1/2 weeks ago.

I like to do a mp run 10 days before marathons. After a 1 mile warm up, I did 8 miles at my original goal mp, then 1 mile cool down. Well, I found out that although my calf is now healthy, so I should be able to finish the marathon, the last few weeks of nursing my injury has caused me to lose my speed. It looks like I will have to change my goal mp from 6:50, which I ran today, to 7:10 if I want to have a good race. Now to get serious about the taper.

4 miles starting off nice and slow, then in the second mile I did 2 1-minuete mp strides but was otherwise slow, then did the 3rd mile downhill at mp, and finished up the last mile nice and easy. After the run I did a mini core session and rolled my legs. I

1 mile nice and slow then alternating 1 minute at mp and 2 minutes slow for the next 3 miles for at total of 4 miles.  I followed that up with some light core work, stretching, and rolling my legs.
