From Saturday afternoon through the weekend I got lots of sleep since I was sick and in bed, so I had rest forced upon me.  It was probably good for my leg.  It really does feel pretty good this morning compared to how it had been feeling.

1 hour elliptical- felt great!

I slept for about 10 hours last night.  I guess my body is still fighting that flu I had.  Luckily I had a big opening in my schedule at lunch today, so I was able to go to the gym.

40 minutes elliptical

20 minutes stairs at a fast walking pace.  I tried a few seconds at a run but it didn't feel right so I quickly went back to the fast walking climb.

Abs and core

Back to work

1 hour stationary bike.

Looking forward to my test run tomorrow.  If I can't go tomorrow, I'm pretty sure I won't be running UVM.

After no real running for 2 1/2 weeks I was excited to run this morning with my sweetie.  It was 85 degrees when we took off a little after 5.  My leg hurt to start but nothing like when I tried to run last week.  As we got going it started feeling better until about mile 9.  The last 5 miles the pain was increasing, but I finished.  We jumped in the pool to cool off when we were done.  That felt really good.

14 miles, AP 9:55

I'm no closer to deciding if I will run UVM after this morning's run, but at least I'm not a definite "no".  I guess it will be a race day decision.

I gotta start blogging again.  I've missed my daily interaction with my running friends.  I've been super busy at work and have not had a lot of time, but I'm going to start checking up on everyone again.  I have been exercising.  I have been doing a lot of core work while watching the World Cup.  It's a good thing it only happens once every 4 years, because I don't get nearly as much done while it is going on.

30 minutes deep water running.

Doone did her long run this morning and I didn't want to miss out, so I rode my bicycle by her for a while.  Then I got in some harder riding. I didn't put my bicycle garmin on so I don't know how far I rode, but I'd guess 25 miles.

Still awaiting MRI results.  I'll post as soon as I find out what's up.

This whole thing is getting more and more frustrating.  I just called the doc's office to find out what was up, and they said they still haven't recieved the report from the MRI facility.  Heck, by the time I find anything out, I'm not going to need their help anymore.

So the doc's office calls me this morning and tells me they have the report and I need to come in and see the doctor to go over the results.  The catch- the doctor is only in on Tuesdays.  What?????  I need a schedule like that.  No wonder he was so backed up when I went in to see him.

Anyways, I didn't let it go at that.  I kept at it long enough until at least they read the report to me.  I do have a stress fracture.  I asked if I should stay off of it.  They said, walking around on it should be ok, but I have to see the doctor for any other info.

I just came from the doc's.  He seems to think I shouldn't run for 6 months.  Now I'm depressed.  Of course there is nothing they can do to help it heal faster.  He just says to wear real cushioned shoes and don't do anything that causes impact on my leg.  Even swimming, he doesn't want me to kick to hard.  Basically he only wants me to do upper body work.  This just bites.

He also want me to get some blood tests to test my Vit D, Calcium, and parathyroid levels.  And of couse he wants to see me back in 6 weeks so he can bill me again.  I don't know if I'm going to get the blood work or even go back.  It willl heal eventually weather I do all that stuff or not.
