Officially I ran the Pocatello Half Marathon.  I don't even know what my time was though.  After the start of the half, I crossed the timing mat and walked out to the road where the marathoners were coming by.  Larry (Smooth's amazing husband) was there and I chatted with him for about 8 minutes when Doone came running by.  Off I went.  I asked Doone how she was doing and could tell she was working a bit hard to keep that pace up for the rest of the race, so I didn't push her, just tried to remain positive.

The first few miles my leg was a bit sore, but then I had no more pain for the rest of the race.  Teena helped my KT tape it up the night before.  She's good.  She's going to be the best PT ever.  You guys who live close to her and will be able to use her sevices are lucky.

Anyways it was a beautiful day for a run.  I had lots of fun and my leg doesn't seem any worse for having done it.  I think I'm going to take it really easy for another month and hope that I can put this injury completely behind me.

It was so much fun to see Smooth, Larry, Teena, and Kathie the night before the race and after the race.  You all are awesome!  Congrats on your great races.  I hope to see you all soon.

It's been a busy week getting back from my mini vacation in Pocatello.  My leg feels better than it has in a long time, although last night at soccer practice I ran a bit setting up cones for drills and it still hurt some to run.  I was so hoping that I would be able to run without any pain since the bone is almost pain free to the touch since Teena taped it up.

This is the first week my leg has felt completely normal in over 4 months!!!!  I haven't tried running on it this week, but I have not even felt a little twinge in my leg this week, not touching it, not going down stairs, not anything!  I am very excited that I may have finally turned the corner on this.  My plan is to wait until after our family trip to Orlando which is the first full week of October and then try some easy running.  Until then, I'll just stick with the cross training.

I worked extra hard today on the weights.  I figure I should get really serious about the weights for the next 6 weeks since Doone and I are heading to Belize in November.  I lifted hard enough today that by the time I was done I was completely wiped out.  It felt terrible, but in a good way.

I got my fat butt out of bed earkt at 5 am this morning for the first time in a few months.  It's time to get my body ready to start running again.

10 minutes elliptical warm up

20 minutes stair speed intervals

45 minutes doing a mixture of plyometrics, jump roping, medicine ball exercises, swiss ball exercises and some core exercises.

Whew! it felt great to really work my body hard.  I miss starting my day with a really good hard work out.

Today is Doone's birthday, so I stayed home from the gym this morning and got the kids ready and took them to school.  I'm going to try and sneak out at lunch for a quick workout.

30 minutes stair speed intervals.

10 minutes elliptical cool down.

I'm still breathing a little hard from those stair speed intervals I finished an hour ago.

Full body weights and ab work.  I did some lunging exercises that are supposed to be good for runners.  I'm going to have sore buns and quads tomorrow.
