| | nice run with Rob, Jake, Fritz, Dan, and PJ from highland and around the U | |
| | 30 minute spin after getting home 26 hours after leaving SLC thanks to a maitenance issue on the tarmac.
| | 60 minute spin workout with 9 by 3' hard 2' easy, looks like high winds, snow and sub 20 degree temperatures this week. Looks bleak for doing any kind of significant mileage.
| |
| | Managed a run during lunch, before the snow and wind come. Only brutal on the last stretch heading south back to the plant.
| | Hour bike workout, my furnace broke so I was at my parents last night and heated by electric heaters tonight. Biking helped keep me warm.
| | 30 minute ride before my date.
| | Lunch run, mizunos got filled with snow in the wave plate crevasse. Got dong punched by a dog. But it was practically summer out, snow and 30 degrees!
| |
| | Icy, couldn't go as far as I wanted.
| | Quick run before the drive to Oswego.
| | Stopped in Rochester to do a few miles with my friends on the way back from Oswego and the wing walk bar crawl. Was going to get a garbage plate, but everywhere was closed.
| | Finally decent out, very over the high winds and highs in the teens.
| | 45 degrees, are you kidding me? Basically summer out there.
| |
| | Not as warm as yesterday, but still nice
| | Got my run in before work, but spring thaw means icy conditions in the morning. Was slow and spent a lot of time in the road, very excited to say goodbye to the snow and ice.
| | It's going to get up to 50 today! Did my lunch run in shorts, first time in a looooooong time.
| | Finally getting back inot the swing of things. The rain probably waasn't necessary though.
| | Four around the city before beers on parade day.
| | We're backlsiding into winter. Mid 30s on the run today with some really solid 20mph winds.
| | Lunch run, had to do a double take during it when I spied a Utah License Plate.
| | The High School nearest work had a protest by students of the plan to change the name Redskins. The school banned kids from coming back to school so I saw several wandering the streets during my run.
| | Normal lunch run then 4 in the city after work since it was so nice.
| | Crappy weather had me biking the last few days. Glad to get out again, once at lunch and once after work.
| | Lunch run, windy and rainy. Spring has to eventually come, right?
| |
| | Run at RIT to try to meet the Tiger Trail girls on their run in, got some bad info so just got a run in.
| | Met GF for lunch, so did a longer run after work
| | Lunch run, tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s. I don't really even believe it.
four after work...in shortz!
| | Lunch run sans shirt. Suns out Guns out.
| | Run with the turtles 5k, ran slow got beat by a 13 year old. Yeah.
| | Lunch run, one of those rare perfect temperature runs, just under 60 and sunny.
Run along the waterfront after work, the shorelines are at least starting to melt.
| | Lunch run through Como Park, neato.
| | Nice outside for a run, but forgot a headband so sweat poured into my eyes the whole time. #firstworldproblems
| | Cooler than it has been, though luckily no snow.
| | Easy 3 before the craziness tomorrow.
| Race: |
Seneca 7 (77.7 Miles) 10:05:00, Place overall: 22, Place in age division: 3 | | I ran as part of a bike team in the Seneca 7 relay yesterday, it is a 77.7 mile relay around Seneca Lake, right in the shadow of the Hill Cumorah. When not running my legs we biked to the next exchange point, unfortunately they did not have enough water out so pretty much everyone was gassed on the second half. I got 65 "kills" though I'm pretty sure most of my teammates were then murdered back by the other teams. That's the real issue, people always fail to write on their van how many ties they have been killed, so the statistics are just widely skewed.
Very long day, woke up at 5:45 AM and got back to my place at 10 and not to sleep until a while after. We managed 22 out of about 220 and 3rd bike team.
| |
| | Three very slow and painful miles at lunch. Only went out since the weather is going to turn later this week.
| | Run around the city, positive: it's very nice out. Negative: so many people out, where were you when it was cold!?
| | 6.5 at lunch and 4.3 on the waterfront after work.
| | Run before work, ran into my little sister who was also running. What a run of luck!
Run after work
| | Run at lunch and one after work
| | Run at lunch, nice litte run after work.
| | Running around cheering for my sister.
| Race: |
Kelly Tough 12k (7.456 Miles) 00:44:52, Place overall: 1 | | Ran this little diddy, with 2 mile warm up and cool down attached. The race was put on by former Bills QB Jim Kelly, I won a football signed by him and given to me by him. It was cool.
| |
| | It was rainy and cold all day, got a few miles in later in the day.
| | Lunch run, wanted to get another run after work but I was dragged to a theatre awards show. Very bizarre atmosphere.
| | 7 at lunch and 6.5 after lunch. My team won soccer, helps when you have bigger kids.
| | Pre work run, already quite humid.
| Race: |
Run the Burg for Autism (3.107 Miles) 00:16:32, Place overall: 1 | | Felt really good, thought I had a 16:45 in me at best. Went out in 5:25 then sped up the next two miles, won by about 15 seconds. Then consumed several beverages at the beer tent between 12 and 4.
| |
| | Lunch run, on my run I started estimating how many miles I have run in my lifetime thus far. I came up with 35,000 to 40,000 so far, can I eventually get to 100,000...who knows?
Got in five miles at Chestnut Ridge before coaching soccer. Its just the best place.
| | Left my car at work and pulled a modified Jake, ran from work back to my place in the city. Took one wrong turn, and if there was a place along the route to not take a wrong turn, as a skinny white guy, it was where I did in the East side of Buffalo. Managed to dodge the Tstorms and make it home in one piece.
| |
| | Recovered the best I could last night, and kept it off the crete as much as I could to save the knees. A lot cooler today which helped, thank goodness there's a shower here.

Buffalo Corporate Challenge (3.5 Miles) 00:18:42, Place overall: 2 | | Early 4, getting challenged corporately tonight.
So close, should have won. But there was an intern way out front of my buddy and I so I didn't kick as hard as I could have. After the race I found out I was racing for 1st and not 2nd. Only the winner gets the trip to the World Champs. You always have to kick and give it everything you got.
| |
| | 11 in the rain with several others.
| | run to the lunch
Run after soccer game
| | Morning run, with bubles graced on me by the Bubble man who lives at the corner of Allen and Elmwood.

Hump Day Mile (1 Miles) 00:04:46, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 2 | | Easy run at lunch before racing a mile tonight.
First mile rance since about aught eight, I think I did pretty well. Got beat by three high schoolers and a recent college runner. 5 miles warm up and coold down plus Pizza and beer at the end!
Gun went off and my elbows went into the chests of either guy on the line next to me, old habit from my middle distance days then a downhill bit. Hit the quarter in 68, then flattish to the half at 2:21, uphill to the 3/4 at 3:36 then a little up then down to the finish.
| |
| | Last run in the mountains, run along the Banff trail starting from the nordic center in Canmore.

| Race: |
ESB Scolarship 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:17:10, Place overall: 1 | | Decided to go with the Engineering Society of Buffalo 5k vs. the mile. Got to support my people. Slow race on the windy lake but still won by 1:20.

Ran to and from concert, easiest way to travel!
| | Lunch Run
Run around the village, saw coworker mark and his gf at the ice cream place.
| | Started at Devil's Hole State Park, ran down to the Niagara whirlpools with a little boulder scramble thrown in. Then ran back up an along the canyon towards the falls, got stung by a bee on my left breast through the shirt. I think I finally understand a woman's sensitive nipples.
| |
| | lunch run
Post work and grocery shopping run.
| | Lunch run, another hot one!
| Race: |
Ronald McDonald House 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:16:44, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 1 | | Pre work run.
Well decided to race on the hottest day of the year, ran up from my apartment with my buddy then got off to race. I tried to keep the splits as even as possible, right around 5:20, started in 15-20 place and caught 3rd place with about a half mile to go but he hung right in there as we came up on 2nd place. They sprinted off and I just ambled in.
| | Busy day full of cake and pizza. Got in a few miles between activities.
| Race: |
Tofurkey Trot (3.107 Miles) 00:17:35, Place overall: 1 | | Being a little hungover from last night I just wanted to win, which since I was racing vegans was going to be easy. Decided to do this since work will reimburse me. Lots of people to avoid on the second lap, then they didnt even have the finish chute ready for me, and the one official tried to argue that I had one more lap to do. After calling him an idiot and explaining a few different ways he slowly came to the realiziation that he was, in fact, being an idiot. Got 25 bucks to the local running shoe concern, and a tofurkey coupon...maybe I can donate it to the City Mission?
| |
| | Run with Turko, I was still slightly intoxicated from the night before. But 8 miles around the West Hartford Reservoir has a way of changing that.
| | Lunch run, heading out to the Adiondacks for the Peak to Brew Relay. This is a pilot race with 5 teams before the normal Ragnar style relay will start up next year. p2brelay.com if you're interested in checking it out.
| |
| | 1 mile warm up then 10.6 for the Peak to Brew Relay Leg 1, ran swiftly chasing another guy. He had about a 5 minute gap on me and even with me running my ass off only made up 2 minutes.
4.3 for Leg 2, averaged under 6 minute pace at night under the stars.
| | 2.4 2.1 up hill for leg 3 then a little cool down jog. Managed to get under 7 minute pace.
6.3 Mostly down with a pretty hot and brutal 1.5 mile climb in the middle. Then I did another 3 to help my teammate out who was hurting.
Then several beers at the finish.
| | Easy and slow run, still hurting from the relay.
| | Lunch run, left during the rain which helped cool it way down.

| | Finally got myself to do a workout, today was more overcoming a mental barrier than physical. I did 3 miles tempo with the first wo miles slightly up with splits 6:07 5:54 5:41. Today times didn't matter just the fact that I got a hard effort in.
