| | 6:30pm We had a great turnout for our first group run tonight. About 10 people showed up, one couple brought their two kids in a double stroller and Preston and Sara's girls led the way on their bikes. It was a fun night, I'm looking forward to next week already.

| | 6:30pm 3 easy miles around the park with the new running
group. I ran with Jamie on his bike. aroudn 11 min pace. My Garmin went
haywire since I didn't reset it after the trail run on Saturday. It
thought I went 388980 miles. I had to reset it and erase the history.

| | 3:00pm 1Chronicles 5-29 I got a sweet buzz-cut today! Kym cut my hair with the clipper guide set on 5 as usual and I tried to get a couple hairs she missed, but didn't notice the clippers were set back on 1. Instant bald spot! I had no choice, but to cut it all down to a 2. I'm feeling very aerodynamic now.

10:00am Ezra 3 - Nehemiah 9 Yesterday's plan was to run 10 miles with even 7:10 splits. Instead, I slept in until 1:00pm, went out to Casa Mia for lunch with Kym where I ate the biggest Calzone on the planet and went back to bed for a 3 hour nap before Jake's open house at his school. Then I finished the night off with a giant bucket of popcorn before bed. Today's plan was to go 15 miles with 7:10 splits since I skipped yesterday. Yeah riiiight! I started out ok, but the wind was way to gusty to keep my pace as even as I wanted. I quickly abandoned that idea and decided to ignore my watch and just keep up a solid effort regardless of the wind direction. By mile 6 last night's popcorn was threatening to come back up and I revised my plan to 12 miles. When I finally got the the turn off for the lake I opted to skip that too and settled for 10. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I'm just happy I made it home without leaving yesterday's bad eating choices all over the sidewalk.
Now I'm off to go see cousin Tessa kick some butt at her Cross Country meet in Steilacoom Park!

10:00am Job 39 - Psalms 71 Running in circles today. One loop around Oakbrook, one loop around Waughop Lake and one loop around Gravelly Lake. During mile 15 I was feeling really dry and stopped at the firestation to see if I could get a drink, strike one, nobody was there. Next was an espresso stand a mile farther down the road, strike two, no free water for me. Another mile down the road I stopped at Lakes high school and found a drinking fountain. By then I was so thirsty that I drank way too much and was sloshing pretty badly for the last three miles. I kept on pace and even picked it up a bit for the last two miles and felt really accomplished when I got home. I couldn't wait to hit the shower and just relax in my empty house for a while. I was met at the door by my son who had gotten himself in big trouble at school and left early without permission. What a buzz-kill!
