We were only at 2 of 10 when Karina got sick and had to turn aound. When we got home I kept going and did a lap around Oakbrook. I managed to get a few in at my former regular pace, but it wasn't easy. My foot is hurting again too, enough that I think I should go back to the doc. I was thinking today that it feels almost like the neuroma I had in the other foot.
Also: Gloves & Little Hotties today! I miss Summer.

Karina and I ran 7.5 with a few walk breaks, then I continued for one lap around Oakbrook. She has had a couple off running days now and I'm having a hard time encouraging her to push herself. She has a LOT of running potential and I really want her to go for it, but not if it takes the fun out of it for her. Mostly, I'm just really happy that she actually wants to run with me and I don't want to mess it up :)

| | 12:00pm Ran 4.2 with Karina just under 9 min pace. She went out and ran 12 by herself Saturday and still felt up to a few miles today. Afterwards we were taking about running stuff and my son decides he wants to get in on the fun and asked me to go back out for another run with him. This is a VERY big deal so of course I'm all over it. He put amazing effort into the first mile which we finished in 11:29! (Jake is 6' 3" and about 280lbs so even aside from his other issues, this is a real physical challenge for him) Then we walked a bit and ran another 1/2 mile home at 13 min pace. What a great way to spend the afternoon! I am so blessed! |

Soggy 10 miler with Karina. The best part was when she said "Take that! You stupid hill!" when we got to the top of the hill where she had to walk last week. |

6.75 miles at 9 min pace with Karina. She was full of energy after taking a few days off. Sore foot, good run! |

Karina wanted to do a short faster run so I let her set the pace for the first mile and then challenged her to keep the same pace up Farwest hill on the second mile. She did it!! Then she picked up the pace a little bit more for each of the last 2 miles. She is going to do great in her 1/2 next month! Her goal is 2 hours. I'm convinced she can do it.

My daughter is a rockstar runner! I couldn't go on her long run today, so she went by herself in the wind and pouring rain and finished 12.75 miles in 1:55:00. She ran the first two hilly miles very slow(do as I say, not as I do) and still finished well within her race pace goals and said she could have easily kept going. Only two weeks to raceday in Florida, I'm so excited for her! | Comments(3) |
