I was being tested last night for sleep apathy so I had to wear this stupid thing on my finger all night long and I couldn't sleep. It drove me nuts! So needless to say I didn't get very much good sleep last night... I ran out to Payson via canal road to my 3 mile mark and then I headed back to my house, I did some quicker miles on the way back, a progression run for two miles those went as follows; 7:43, and 7:18. The last mile was more in the 6:45 range but I did a recovery 200 in the middle and then I would kick it towards the end, I was breathing pretty heavy at the end of that last one! My average pace was 8:18 with my HR average at 149, total time was 50:34, I had a 2:00 minute negative split on the way back which was cool. Not bad, considering that I was going to try and take it easy today, its that darn Rocky's Theme it gets me going every time!

See ya tomorrow.

I ran out towards mini GU corner but stopped a mile short as I am going to take it easy the rest of the week so I can be ready for Saturday. About a mile into my run I came up behind Pat Loss but I stayed about 20 yards or so behind him and the amazing thing about him is he looked like he was just jogging easy, but then when I looked down I was going at an 8:00 minute pace so he was pulling me along, simply incredible... After I hit my 2 mile mark I let him go and then headed for home, a little demoralized and humbled but non the less I headed for home;-) Other than that mile with Pat I kept it pretty easy my average pace was 8:43 with my HR rate average at 146, total time was 35:17. I will do 4 again tomorrow and then 3 on Thursday and then just a couple on Friday before we head down to St. George just to shake the old legs out, should be a fun weekend.

See ya tomorrow.

Just another easy run out towards Payson via canal road, at times I found myself having to slow down as the pace was quickening and I want to keep things easy through Saturday... My average pace was 8:30 with my heart rate average at 142, total time was 34:30. Ethan started Baseball last night two practice games back to back, and he has a soccer going on still, very very busy, I will be glad when he just picks one sport...

See ya tomorrow

I ran out towards Pretty Little Hill this morning, keeping it nice and easy. My legs still don't feel very strong, so I don't quite know what to expect this weekend I guess I will just see how things go on race day and then go from there... I just wish it warm up, it seems like we are just stuck in spring mode and can't break out of it, oh well I guess we need the water. My average pace was 9:04 with my HR average at 135 total time was 31:02, well thats about it...

See ya tomorrow.

I ran out to the old Barn out and back, round trip its 2 miles even. I didn't take a watch or music I just wanted to shake the cobwebs out of the old legs, they didn't feel real springy so I don't know what to make of that! We are getting ready to head down to SG so I better get my butt moving, see ya later;-)

Not alot of time but details will be coming. Not real pleased with the time, legs gave out with about 4 miles to go and it was pretty brutal after that... Will give more details tomorrow.

Details- I just had no legs for this race, Basically from the warm I knew that it was going to be a tough day! From mile 4 on I had a side ache which I have never had in my life and everytime I would try and speed up I would double over in pain so I would have to slow down, about the only place it didn't bother me was on the steep down hill... I will give my splits and you can see where the side ache problems started! My goal was to keep a 7:30 pace for the whole race but it didn't happen.

Splits; 7:26,7:13, 7:32, 7:44-ooch, 7:53, 8:04, 8:25, 7:56 major pain, 7:25 downhill, 7:44, 8:25 really hurting, 8:57 really ticked off and hurting at this point, 7:55 Major major pain!

About the only good thing about the last mile was I had a guy trying to pass me about the last quarter mile, I could hear him back there huffing and puffing but I was not going to let him pass!!! When we hit the last stretch he was trying to kick and pass and everyone was cheering him on but I still beat him, I did not let him pass!

I have alot of work to do. this was a pretty tough course but I think minus the side ache I win my division or atleast a top 3, instead I settle with a top 5 finish and feeling good that I was able to hold off the huff and puff guy;-(

See ya tomorrow.
