Not alot of time but details will be coming. Not real pleased with the time, legs gave out with about 4 miles to go and it was pretty brutal after that... Will give more details tomorrow.

Details- I just had no legs for this race, Basically from the warm I knew that it was going to be a tough day! From mile 4 on I had a side ache which I have never had in my life and everytime I would try and speed up I would double over in pain so I would have to slow down, about the only place it didn't bother me was on the steep down hill... I will give my splits and you can see where the side ache problems started! My goal was to keep a 7:30 pace for the whole race but it didn't happen.

Splits; 7:26,7:13, 7:32, 7:44-ooch, 7:53, 8:04, 8:25, 7:56 major pain, 7:25 downhill, 7:44, 8:25 really hurting, 8:57 really ticked off and hurting at this point, 7:55 Major major pain!

About the only good thing about the last mile was I had a guy trying to pass me about the last quarter mile, I could hear him back there huffing and puffing but I was not going to let him pass!!! When we hit the last stretch he was trying to kick and pass and everyone was cheering him on but I still beat him, I did not let him pass!

I have alot of work to do. this was a pretty tough course but I think minus the side ache I win my division or atleast a top 3, instead I settle with a top 5 finish and feeling good that I was able to hold off the huff and puff guy;-(

See ya tomorrow.

Clay, wake up calls are positive, we often gain when in pain, good effort gutting out the race. We have all had races like yours, especially going form cold to warn climate.

It was great to see you at the start for a couple of minutes. Way to hold that guy off at the end even in major pain. Miles 11 and 12 were pretty tough there at the end of the race, I know how you were feeling, not good. Does this now guarantee an entry for you at SGM?

Jeff- It does get me into SG which is a good thing, but I feel like I need to work a little harder. I don't know...

Thanks for checking in on me, and keep working hard;-)

Sounds like a tough day at the office Clay. Actually it sounds a lot like my Ogden marathon last year. The side ache was a bad pain in my diaphragm. Every time I'd try to get things going I'd do what you said and double over. It made for a long race...

That suck for ya to have had to go through that down here. That course is way harder than most people give it credit for. Hang in there man your doing just fine.
