| Heading to California on Wednesday to run the SoCal Ragnar with Callie. I sure haven't been running much, 12 miles each of the last two weeks. I'm sure I'll be okay in the race though, I'm only running 4, 4, 10. I can do that...right? :-)

| I'm in California to run the SoCal Ragnar Relay with my daughter Callie on Friday and Saturday. She's in the middle of training for a marathon. We just ran 4 easy today before the race. I've really slacked off my running so my 4,4 and 10 in the relay may be a little rough. I don't expect to burn up the pavement. Today: 9:11 / 132 HR 8:32 / 125 HR 8:36 / 132 HR 8:32 / 137 HR Avg 8:43 / 131 HR

| Man, this first leg of the Ragnar Relay was tough! 1 mile not too bad but running a 6:30 pace, then hit a light at .9 mile and had to wait about 1:30 for it to change. Then 3 miles alk uphill....ahhhh And hit , I think 5 more lights red! Overall average 8:05. |

| Finished my 2nd leg at 4:45. 4 miles at 7:25 pace. Not nearly as flat as I imagined this race would be. Last leg will be about 10 miles and I'll be starting about 3 pm, the hottest rime of the day. Finished my 9.3 leg of the race with an avg pace of 8:25. Not that fast but I am proud of it. This leg was good except for one very ling hill. Ran all miles at right at 8 min pace except for the hill mile which was a long 9. All the other miles would have been faster but had to stop at several stop lights with the watch running. Also I pulled one of my standards and ran the wrong direction causing me to go off course .16 miles. This happens to me frequently.

| Not sure what got into me this morning but I ran one of my stronger 7 mile training runs today. The weather was great at 54 degrees, 43% humidity, 32 degree dew point, 11 mph wind and 156 lbs. Haven't been consistent lately running so I'll probably pay in sorness for this run! 3 miles in the 6's ... That's good for me on this run!

I read in one of my running books "when the sum of temperature and humidity exceeds 135, runners should modify their workouts." Seems I'm in that range almost all of the time. :-(

| Went to the gym today to just change things up. Ran 4 miles on the TM but broke it up into 4 1 mile runs with some upper body weights in between. I will be sore tomorrow as I haven't worked my upper body in months! |

| I'm starting to see a rhyme and reason to the "Temp+Humidity -- Adjust Workout When Above 135" theory...! I've been looking at runs above and below this number and I can definitly see a difference. I get many days above that number where I live, even in the winter.
