The sport misses you, Rob.

It's been too painful for me to go but the meet was at Sugarhouse Park - walking distance from my house - and several of the kids are in my classes and they asked me to come. I'm glad I went.

Why is it painful to go these days, if that's not too personal of a question?

From Rob Murphy on Sat, Sep 30, 2023 at 15:50:45 from 76.149.134.98

Because it reminds me of what I'm missing and I get jealous of people who do get to coach cross country. I try to avoid feelings of jealousy and envy.

I guess I don't know how your coaching position ended. Whatever it was, sorry it went that way. I've seen enough of your runners on FRB and their comments to you over the years that I know you made a difference in many young lives.

I was fired in 2018 for violating the school districts rules on overnight travel when I allowed 6 Alta runners to go with another school to Foot Locker in Southern California.

From Jon on Tue, Oct 03, 2023 at 08:41:38 from 165.156.40.47

That stinks. Lots of schools travel overnight- we had to for our state cross country, which was in Pueblo CO one year.

Would you ever consider coaching at a different school? Or has that ship sailed?
