I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.
Short-Term Running Goals:
I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.
Personal:
I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.
AM run. Tried to keep it as flat as possible. My heel felt better. 19:17 with 9:27 pace. It felt better running flat. Still not sleeping as is evidenced by my finally catching up on this blog.
AM Mesa run. Was already hot when we went at 7:30. Levi ran with me. 9:30 and 9:23 with 53 seconds. Was close to 90 degrees when we finished. We left later to get Levi released. He spoke in church 6/24/18 in Holbrook.
