Ran the Susan G. Komen Save a Sister race down in St. George. It was all in good fun. I didn't expect to do anything exciting. I knew coming down here that I was mainly here to visit my parents and Sister and her family. I am not in tip top shape at all. I think I stopped running from shin splints in the beginning of August, and didn't pick back up until Sept 10thish? But I had no idea this course was going to be such a challenge. I didn't eat anything, or drink and forgot my Garmin. This course was so hilly. I think maybe 1 downhill and the rest was hills and a little flat during certain parts. Definitely tested my lungs and leg turnovers and my mind. I was dying in the last mile. It was a little frustrating not having a watch on to see how bad I was dying. But everything was big hills! I still maintained a 6:44 on hills. So I don't feel to bad about this. Saw cute Amber Green on a corner in the first quarter mile. She had her cute boys with her :) Some younger teen kid in front of me accidentally mixed up his chip with his 38 yr old Mother. At first it showed she won (he I mean haha) but after I told the timing guys that there were no ladies ahead of me, they realized it was a chip mix up. Merri ran it today too. 22 weeks pregnant. I'm impressed! Won gift certificate to the St. George running center. Yippy! I have a lot of aerobic fitness I need to gain back before Boston (sigh) It's all my shins fault! 4 miles cool down on the Virgin river trail.
