My back started hurting in my injury area Friday afternoon, so I didn't run a 5k Saturday. I took it easy for 2 days. It paid off. I felt fresh this morning. (10.25 miles) I wish it wasn't so cold though. I would have liked to run outside this morning. Perhaps I'll be more brave tomorrow. And perhaps I'll find another race to run this Saturday.

It's going to be a long day today. My Dad is having his right kidney removed this morning. The kidney is ridden with cancer. He is also in kidney failure, so he will have to start dialysis shortly after.  I hate this aspect of life!

Excellent run to start the day off with - especially with everything emotional you're having to deal with right now. It's not easy, that is for sure! Just enjoy every day you have left with him, it is a precious gift. Cancer took my daddy over 4 years ago, and it still makes my heart hurt to hear about others having to go through the same thing. Best piece of advice my dad gave me about it all was: "it's okay to cry, but when you're done crying get up, brush yourself off and carry on!" Love and prayers Lily! Love and prayers.
