I am injured. Totally. My lower right side of my back, were talking really low, almost the top of my glute is totally hurt. I had planned to punch out a 13 miler this morning, but this injury put a halt to that. I barely, BARELY was able to push out this 4 miles. I stopped several times wincing in pain. I am screwed. I need this to heal and get better before spring. So I am going to have to take it easy.

I worked out hardcore on the weights today. Probably the hardest I've done since last spring. Felt good.

Injuries stink. Take it easy and get healed up.

Sorry about the back pain! Injuries are the worst.

You should get a bod pod test. We did that last year and it was interesting.

If you're 23% body fat, then I must be 60%. :)

Hope your injury heals up quickly.

You ARE that intimidating. Sorry about the injury.

ahhh stink! I know its a long way to go, but I have an amazing massage therapist at Daybreak that could probably help loosen up the back for you!

Nice % on the body fat...I won't even give a hint at how much more mine is right now!!

Lily, do you have a tennis ball handy? You need to roll on it ... it will hurt, but then it will feel better. lay on your side with the tennis ball right behind your hip bone. If you have foam rollers at the gym they work well too (and won't hurt as bad).

Take care ... get some rest, heal quickly.

I would say go see a sports medicine Dr. ASAP so you can get diagnosed correctly and get a plan in place to run. I have a good one if you are interested. Being injured stinks, and the time off stinks more! Good luck.

From catherine on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 18:51:08 from 98.202.112.51

Wow...I think the foam roller hurts pretty bad. I can't imagine how much the tennis ball would hurt.

Ahh Lily!...I'm sorry, been there for a couple of weeks myself. You're tough, take it easy for a bit and I bet you'll snap to health quick.

From gdoc on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 00:16:44 from 98.202.195.25

Good luck on healing... one day you will just wake up and realize the pain is gone...

so sorry to hear about your back, lily. i'll second bonnie's suggestion about the tennis ball -- she has suggested this to me before when my hips were injured and it really helps (hurts, but helps).

i hope you can get this sorted out quickly.

Sucky about the back pain. Maybe it is just some muscle spasm that a good ole muscle relaxer can fix. I would give it a try. What is the worst thing that can happen? You feel a bit loopy and get a sweet nap out of it.

From Lily on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 at 10:17:23 from 67.199.181.73

Thanks for the encouragement ya'll.

Bonnie I took your advice and the tennis ball rolling seems to be helping. I feel much better this morning. So I'll keep doing this and hope to be better by the end of the week! :)

Oh and Scott, I did take muscle relaxer's on Saturday night. I was out 30 min later :)

Don't point at me for doing Plank. I gave it up when my wife punched out a 5+ minute plank, rubbed my face in it and did 10 victory laps around me.

I'll never live it down.
