47 min elliptical. Random weights. Came home and ran a recovery run outside. 7 miles. You better believe I turned up my ipod and had a great time, even in the dark alone. avg pace 7:50

Tomorrow is my track sprints day. Even though it hurts and burns, I am looking forward to it.

Gotta find a 5k sometime in April. Preferably the middle or end of April.

The race calendar is pretty slim in April. The only ones I can think of in that timeframe are the 5K that goes along w/ the SLC marathon, and Thanksgiving Point. The SLC Running company is also having a free race on the 28th... its a perfectly flat out & back course.

Nice workout Lily! Jake is right that the 5k options are kind of slim in April. There are a ton in May though. Are you doing the Provo half marathon?

I have been meaning to run the SLC running co. 5k for the last 2 yrs. Maybe I will this time. Thanksgiving point sounds kind of tempting as well.

Rachelle I am running the Provo half. UVM half too. My focus is more UVM half, and use Provo as a tune up. Either way, I am stoked to run both.

Lily, I think that's a great plan if the focus is UVM. That's exactly what Andrea and I did last year - 5K at the end of April, Provo 1/2, then a memorial day race, then UVM as the big one.

Jake- sounds like I'm on track then. I've never run a half this early in the year. I'm nervous. Not sure how my body will respond u know?

From Jake K on Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 10:14:38 from 155.100.226.54

That's why you do it. Rustbuster! And that's also why running a lower key race like a 5K first will take some of the shock away from racing again. You'd rather feel that "racing pain" for the first time at mile 2.5 of a 5K than mile 2.5 of a half-marathon!

True dat! You're so right! We think a lot alike!
