| | AF CANYON
Tibble fork up trail 041 to south on mud flats split. Tough going to the meadow with only one set of (old) tracks--snow very deep. AF Canyon overlook is spectacular and one of the best views of Timp. Back down mud flats to junction up to ridge trail and back down 041. At downhill split headed north on 040 to the north end of tibble. Fun day. Decided I MUST invest in some snowshoes. This hiking up to mid-thigh in snow is wearing me down.

Soft snow made going difficult. Nice groomed section from Wasatch State Park sign (7+/- miles) to Cascade Springs sooooo nice. Finished in the dark.

St George Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:27:22, Place overall: 37, Place in age division: 4 | | Nice day down in St George. Fairly consistent with exception of a couple of slower miles on the hills. Ran with a pretty consistent group helping me chase and keep pace. Hoping to do 1:28, ended up just under and a new PR at 1:27:22. 3 mile warm up/1 mile CD.

| | Tibble Fork up to Mineral Basin (nearly to Hidden Peak except we kept sliding down and couldn't get traction). Late night run with a nice group of people. Tough group. First 5 miles pretty chewed up trail followed by 5 miles of perfectly groomed, track-less road leading right up to the lift house at mineral basin.

6 x .3 mile intervals at 5:45 mm. .2 rest in between. I like the new format I've settled on (from a purely numbers standpoint--on the treadmill) .3 run followed by .2 rest keeps things even on the half mile (.5) and straight-up on the mile.
