4 easy miles with some fast pick-ups thrown in. Some huge dog decided he wanted to play with me and jumped on my back twice almost knocking me over. I've been in some kind of "funk" for the past two months. After the 10k tomorrow, I'm going to get myself out of it. I'm going to do whatever I can to get my motivation back.

Good luck at the 10K tomorrow.

Maintain motivation for continuous training is very hard, sometimes you just need a "breather". I was talking with a running friend last night and she is in the same stage of light "burnout". She was planning on TOU marathon but changed to a sooner one to maintain the benefit of her training but run her big race sooner so she can take some downtime. Downtime is part of the training cycle and it is necessary to stay healthy mentally and physically.

Thanks Jeff. I think you're right. After St. George I think I will be ready for some down time.

I am with you Julie (of course you knew that because I am such a vocal complainer!) Everything feels harder than it should right now! I am hoping running a race will re-motivate me somehow!

Good luck tomorrow!
