I drove down with Michelle N., Cheris, Michelle M., Kris and Dean.    We stayed at the Comfort Inn which made it very easy to walk to and from the race.

I started out with Michelle and Teena.  My plan was to start out slower and pick up the pace as the race went on.  That didn't happen.  I went out too fast for me and ran out of gas at mile 7.  I said goodbye to my friends.  I decided to take my second gu at mile 7.7.  I think that is what caused me to get sick.  I ended up using the POP at the 10 mile water station.  It was so frustrating to get passed by so many people those last 5 miles.   Jody was so sweet and tried to pull me along, but I couldn't do it.  I finished 6 minutes slower this year than last year.  Anyway, it was a fun weekend.  I'm done with my runner's series races.  YEA!!!!

My garmin showed the distance as 13.27, so my splits are probably not correct.  Here they are anyway.    8:05, 8:00, 7:53, 7:49, 8:06, 7:32, 7:51, 7:59, 8:29, 8:16, 10:06 (bathroom break), 8:41, and 8:49.

You did a great job! If I had been sick I would have been much slower! Good luck with the healthy eating challenge, I am the worst eater ever!

I'm sorry I made you start faster than you wanted. Next time just yell at me. See ya in the morning.

I think you did great! I am telling you, there is something up with those GU's! After St George, I will never have a GU again! EVER!

Your splits look pretty good, actually! Potty breaks cost you some and that stinks! I think you should get to stop time for those! It is not fair.

Sorry you had a less-than-ideal day. It seems especially discouraging since you essentially ran the same time for the Riverton course on the training run the week before, but without the dreaded potty stop (thanks for being such good company that day). Looking back, perhaps we should have slowed the pace more so you could have tapered better for Painters. Oh, well, live and learn. In any event, others are reporting he course was short last year.
