Ran middle distance in college with a PB of 1:52 for the 800 meters, then continued running with varying degrees of seriousness throughout my 20's and 30's. Moved up in distance and even ran three marathons (2:43 PB). Now just trying to stay in shape and find balance in life in my 40's.

| Mtn biked about 13.5 - 14 miles from the cabin. Went up Scriver Creek, hoped to take the left fork but the bridge has been taken out, so I came back the same way.
Call it 3.25 easy miles??

2 laps around the block at 9 p.m. Took a break from some work I had to take home - drag. Did 5 x 20 second pickups in the last half of the run. Back sore from raking pine needles, wheelbarrowing, and probably mtn biking.

Quick run after work. Got hit by a big storm right at the end of the run. Huge winds and rainstorm. Did a progression run of 7:59, 7:28, 7:05, 6:35 and then 0.25 miles at 6:24 pace. Felt good this afternoon.

For the most part, a good run on the greenbelt and onto the dirt trail past Park Center. Started a tempo 35 minutes into the run, and about 7 minutes into my tempo, my calf seized up. I limped back the last few miles fearing that it had to do something with the nerves from my back injury, but now I'm hopeful it's just a cramp. I'll stretch it really good and see how it feels tomorrow.

Struggled again today. Did 4 x 5:00 pickups in the second half of the run at 6:28/mile average. Thought I might be able to do these at 6:00/mile or better, but it was just tough. Need to get my miles up and start picking up the intensity a little bit.

Ran at 5 a.m. in the rain after dropping mom and dad off at the airport. Started near Ann Morrison and went upstream to Warm Springs Mesa and back. Really enjoyed the quiet and calm of the morning.

| Hulls Gulch+ - No time
Long run with a group from the YMCA. Up Hulls and onto the upper Hulls trail, back on the ridge and down into the Military Reserve. Did a hard mile with two of the guys in the reserve, which pretty much ensured my last 15 minutes was a full on jog.
Took a lot out of me, but I'm happy I pushed the envelope a little bit today.

Ran with Travis from Camelsback. We went part way up the gulch and back, and did some trails on the lower part. We ran pretty easy, but it was a great day to be out.
