10 miles / from work. Kind of an interesting run. The first 5 miles I wasn't feeling too great and was at 47:27 (9:29 avg.) so I thought I'd just head back and make it an easy 6 mile day. But then I realized that I was feeling warmed up and loose, so I tried picking it up. I ran the last 5 miles in 41:24 (8:17 avg.). So I'm glad I didn't quit.

Splits: 9:57, 9:19, 9:31, 9:40, 8:59, - 8:26, 8:27, 8:26, 8:08, 7:56.   / 8:53 avg for the run.

* Over the summer I had gotten in the habit of inconsistency , missing 8 to 10 days a month. So for September I'm trying to get back in the habit of running everyday. I've missed one day so far, and have run the last 18 days in a row. Other, more experienced runners are always saying consistency is key to becoming a stronger runner - I'm learning that this is definitely true.

11 miles / 8:29 avg. From work. Mostly sun, temps in the low to mid 80's. I ran an easy 3 miles (9:05 avg.) to the H.S. track then ran 7 miles with a goal of keeping the pace under 8:20. Splits for miles 4 through 10: 8:17, 8:19, 8:18, 8:14, 7:58, 8:07, 8:13 (7 miles/8:12 avg). Cool down mile 8:44.
