5k out in Yuma, CO today. Beautiful 50 degree fall morning. course was pancake flat, probably not more than 20 feet gain, so I opened it up. My watch splits aren't super trustworthy, but it was something like 5:39, 5:39, 5:36, then whatever for change to get to 17:21, I think it was probably more like 5:39, 5:38, 5:34, I really accelerated the last mile, it was the slightest of downhill or least appeared that way (but overall the course was still flat). I was really happy with the effort, this is one of the fastest times I've run at altitude (4100 feet in Yuma). I think that still translates to sub-17 at flatter altitude. All-in-all, a fun race - worth the 2 hour drive each way!
