| | Morning - 11.5 BST. Ran along the BST from whatever the park is in Sandy where the road bends. It was a good run. Did a strong push on the way back and hit a big negative split. (Ravenna 195.75)

| | morning - 9 Bear Lake. A little tired, so decided to keep it chill. Started out going across the road from the condo, but then started up the mountain and felt a lot better and the run turned out pretty good. (Ravenna 204.75)

| | AM - 11.5 Twix/Sand Hill. What a crapper. I thought I would be feeling decent after cutting the miles last week, but I must be a little sick. After taking a quick stop before starting the hill, started feeling really sick. Fell way off the group within just a few hundred meters. Ended up just hiking almost the whole thing up and down. Then struggled on in. Abs before. (Speedgoat 274)

| | AM - 8.5 Twix/Half and Half. Tried to grab a little extra sleep to see if that rest helped me feel any better. A little with Twix and then some road and grass. Felt pretty decent today, but it was super easy. Kids club was pretty intense and fun. (Peg Oly 526.5)
afternoon - 2.5 DI. Run then weights. Abs after. (Ran in an old pair of retired Peg Blacks - don’t know why)

| | AM - 12 Twix/DM. A bit with the dog and the tempo on the Dirt Mile. A few more guys dared to go with the Varsity. Those who are coming to practice are really doing well and growing as a team and individually. Me personally - did okay, fell off the last two minutes, but stomach felt much better and I think I’m on the mend. Abs before. (Peg purple 216.75)

| | AM - 11 Twix/Prospector. Abs then but with the dog. Pretty slow pace. Team ran out to Grapevine and the upper level runners continued on to Prospector. Right after going through the tunnel, Decker had stopped the girls with a rattlesnake on the trail. It was a nice size fella with very deep dark distinguished patterns. (Peg black33 588)
afternoon - 2.75 DI. Weights and a little heat run. A little cooler today with clouds in the area, but still no rain on us. (Peg blue 631.75)

| | AM - 8.25 Twix/BHNP. A couple of slow miles with Twix. Achilles was really putting up a fight today. Then a few laps around the BHNP and out along the river trail. I was really holding the group back today, but they just chilled with me. Finished off witha little with Elin. (Ravenna 227)

| | morning - 13.75 Sand Hill/Bracken’s Loop. Good morning in the desert. The last two evenings we have had significant rainfall right in top of us in Washington. And last night was one of the biggest storms I ever remember - not even speaking in hyperbole, I would guess we’ll over an inch in half an hour and then continued rain for another hour or more. In the desert, that is a lot of rain. So I went down to Main Street to see the destruction. It was like what you see on tv - red mud everywhere, chunks of cement from sidewalks in the middle of the road, roads undercut and washed out, mud up into people’s houses; bumma. Into the desert you could see where all the mud came from - all the day washes were washed out, trails had been turned into flash flood washes, all loose sand was gone and rocks were everywhere. The power of the water must have been amazing. Sand Hill was in the best shape I’ve ever run in it. The only other tracks were a set of small coyote or large fox tracks that went all the way up and down the backside. And I crushed it. 9:39 up and 5:22 down. Both records. But when I added them for the total I was slightly bummed to see that I was at 15:01... ahhh! Way good though, especially after feeling so heinous on Monday. This coming Monday, I plan not to pushed hard up, rather station myself part way to help encourage the team, so I won’t get a time in it then. Decided to continue around Bracken’s Loop. Hiked up one of the big sandstone outlooks and just chilled for awhile. There is nothing in the world like the morning after a rainstorm in the desert - so peaceful, clean and fresh. I just meditated up there for a good half hour. After hiking down, I continued around the loop. The trials had been pretty washed out, but all things considered were in great condition. (Sense 358.5)

| | AM - 13.25 Twix/Sand Hill. Abs and then some with the dog followed by Sand Hill. Ran more with some of the crew toward the back to help them out a bit. Team did very well today. I, however, can barely walk because both achilles (but especially the right) are so inflammed. (Adios 505)

| | AM - 7 Twix/Half and Half. Abs and then a few on the DM with Twix. Right achilles is just totally jacked right now. Takes a good 2-3 miles of very painful running to really become runnable. Chilled pretty much with whoever for the practice run - sometimes the boys, sometimes the girls, sometimes some JV crew. Didn't get too involved in Kids Club because the running of the games really kills my leg. Not up to striders either since my hammy has been extra tight for a few weeks. I know it all these pain connect, but I just can't seem to break through them. (Kinvara Grey 212.5)
afternoon - 2.75 DI. Weights and then a hot run. (Pace blue 219)

| | AM - 10.5 Twix/Highland. Ouch... quite a bit of pain in the right achilles today. Took a lot of time for it to get even runnable. Heat, humidity, and long summerness is wearing everyone down, including me. Abs before. (Ravenna 238.5)

| | AM - 12 Twix/Highland. Took a long time with a lot of pain to get the achilles runnable this morning. Tremendous pain. Don’t know why it is so bad this week. Warmed up enough to enjoy the run with the boys up on to Highland. Abs before.
afternoon - weights then skipped the run. Did more ab work during the time.

| | 0 - Maybe the most pain my achilles has ever been in. Took the morning off. Walked he dog for 30min. Walking doesn’t kill as much and helps loosen it up a bit.

| | 0 - stood up Logan (sorry bro). My achilles has been VERY inflamed. Took yesterday off hoping I could go today. Logan and I planned a trail run up in Hop Valley that would have have been so nice with the recent rains. But, although it felt a little better than yesterday, I don’t think my leg would have held up. So nothing today. Swam for a bit in the afternoon. Don’t know if that is a good idea or not, but I felt like it so I did it.

| | AM - 12.25 Twix/Pace Work. Nervous about running but achilles was feeling much better. The swelling had subsided significantly and I didn’t have any pain waking up. Was able to run with Twix with very little pain from the start. Then did a variable pace workout on the grass with the team. It was very nice to have more kids there. Ran with the JV boys. They are coming along, just not a lot of them. A little more pain a few hours after finishing, so I’m taking some time to ice right now. Abs before. (Boston 441.5)

Hurricane Pioneer Days 5K (3.1 Miles) 00:17:15, Place overall: 4 | | AM - 9.5. Hurricane Pioneer Day 5K 17:15
Warmed for a bit and hoped the achilles would stretch out. Got into the race and just kind moved with the flow. First mile was pretty slow (5:50) which gave an old guy a chance to keep me near the front. A few of my guys and one Hurricane guy were in front of me. Just kind of kept pushing and eventually caught the Hurricane guy and tried to push in at a decent pace. Felt pretty decent about the effort. I’m not in amazing shape, but was able to turn out a solid run throughout. Cooled back around the course and ran in with E and Lanes. Then a bit more with the team. (Kinvara grey 222)

| | AM - 10.25 Twix/City Wells. Walked for awhile with Twix and then a few miles with her. This seems to loosen the achilles a little nicer than just jumping into it. Then a beg split up and back City Wells. Most of the team, except Nathan, was a bit tired. (Peg green 356.5)
afternoon - weights and abs

| | AM - 14 Twix/Fields. Just a little with the dog after a walk. Took water out into Warner Valley and then ran back toward the team. We had a good long run with a pretty decent pace. I, like most, felt much better today than yesterday. Abs. (Ravenna 252.5)
