Running Accomplishments:

lifetime runner, HS PRs 1600m 4:42, 3200m 10:22, 5k 16:20. Adult PRs (since 2013): 5k 17:10, 10k 35:05, 1/2 Marathon 1:17:30, Marathon 2:55:00 (2014 Boston Marathon) Trail race 50k 5:08:00. Other achievements: 3x Boston Qualifier. Course Record holder, Utah Valley full and half marathon (Clydesdale Division)

Short-Term Running Goals:

finish a 100k and then a 100 miler in 2016. Mountaineering objectives include climbing all the major Idaho peaks, the high points of each state, including Denali

Long-Term Running Goals:

who knows? I'd love to develop into one of the stronger mountain runners in Idaho, compete in the Leadville and Western States 100 mile races

Personal:

Married with no kids (yet), been coaching high school and middle school track/XC for the past 10 years. Other interests include mountaineering

 Big weights and core workout in the morning, 14 miles in the dark after track practice. 7 mile warm-up, 3 mile tempo run-on the Greenbelt, about 650 per mile,  pretty slow but whatever, then a 4 mile cooldown.

 Easy 8 miles at Cress Creek tonight, getting ready for the track team activity on Saturday-a little bit of elevation, slow, then got chased by dogs for a while-while my headlamp is finally dying.

longest training run of the year so far-- 24 miles out n back, parked at corner of Sunnyside and bone rd. About 2700 feet elevation gain and descent. What I learned from this run: need new underwear! I think my old pairs are too old and that's why they chafe now. Ate peanut butter jelly sandwiches as fuel-- 1/2 sandwich every 40 minutes. Stomach was already upset from bad eating the last few days so not sure if I handled the sandwiches well? Or not? Energy was constant, probably need to eat more next time cause I was hungry while running. Finally, starting really slow will be a good idea in my longer races-- even a 5-hour marathon translates into a 20 hour hundred mile race!
